Roadmap

This is a great game and I would recommend you play the game without videos or guides to really enjoy it, and then go thourgh the whole game again, getting the collectibles and chalenges that you missed during your first playthough. However if you want to get the 100% ASAP, go ahead and follow these steps.

Step 1. Before each level, watch the video with all the collectibles and challenges.

Step 2. Go ahead and start the level you just watched and either go for the speed run for the level, or get all the collectibles and challenge.

Step 3. Go through the level again doing what you didn’t do in your first play through.

Step 4. Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 for all the levels.

Introduction

This game was a very nice surprise for me, since I didn't expect it to be as good as it is. I recommend you play the game without the guide first, so you can really enjoy it. But if you just want a quick 100% go ahead and keep reading.

Even thought the game has a multiplayer component to it, you can get every single trophy by yourself with a second controller. Unfortunately Square delayed the online coop component for the PS3 and PC versions of the game for a few weeks, so you will need a second controller for now to get the 100%.

Apart from the cooperative trophies, the only other thing you will have to "worry" about are the collectibles. They are mostly obvious and you should be able to find most of them with no effort, but ill include guides to get all of them. Also, you will find challenges for each level, and also you will need to to a speed run of all them and you get weapons, upgrades and relics for each completed challenge, so you will need to complete all of them if you want to get the 100%, that's why you need to go through each level at least 2 times, since its almost impossible to get all collectibles in the level and do the speed run at the same time.

Co-op Trophies

For these trophies you will need a second controller, but you can do them all by yourself.

A Friend In Need (S)

Play Co-op mode

Its very simple as soon as you start a coop game, the trophy will pop up.

Leap of Faith (B)

Catch Totec with the grapple while he is jumping over a death fall.

Playing as Lara, you will have to catch Totec when he's falling to a certain death. I did this on the second level, as you defeat the first batch of enemies, you will have to cross a bridge and it has a big hole in the middle. First cross the hole with Lara, then with Totec just jump to your death and then quickly while he's falling, with Lara use your grapple to save him.

Return To Sender (B)

Reflect an enemy's projectile back to him using Totec's shield

As the description says, you will have to return a projectile to an enemy using Totec's Shield. The first chance you have of doing this is at the beginning of the second level, since its the first time you will be facing "shooting" enemies. The way you hold up your shield is by holding :r1: + :l1:, but in order to return a projectile you will need to press the buttons right as the projectile is about to hit you. And you have to make sure it hits the enemy that actually shot at you, if it hits another enemy the trophy won't pop, so the best thing you can do is kill all enemies but one of the ranged ones, and then deflect the projectile.

Jump Jump (B)

Jump from Totec's shield while he is jumping.

You can get this as soon as the game starts. What you have to do is, with Totec hold :r1:, and then jump on Totec's Shield with Lara. Press :cross: on Totec's controller to jump with him and immediately press :cross: on Lara's controller to jump with her. If done correctly the trophy should pop right away. (It might require some creativity to hold both controllers, but it is do-able).

Miscellaneous And Collectible Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/433/04.jpg

Three Birds One Stone (B)

Kill 3 enemies with one bomb.

Its really simple, you have to place a bomb in the ground with :triangle: and then detonate it by pressing :triangle: again when 3 or more enemies are within range and they have to die for the trophy to pop. I got this in the first level by shooting 3 enemies once with the lance and then luring them to a bomb. Got it right at the beginning, the first time you get attacked is by a group of 3 enemies.

If you are having a hard time with the big enemies, you can easily get it on the second level with the small lizard enemies since they die with one hit, like its shown in this video.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/433/08.jpg

Seeing Red (S)

Collect all 10 red skulls in any single level.

There are 10 red skulls in every single level and you will need to get them all if you want to get the 100% for this game. See "Tomb Rider" for a guide of all the collectibles.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/433/07.jpg

The Bread Winner (S)

Earn the top score objective in any level.

Each level has 3 different score objectives and each has its own unique reward, so you will need to get the top scores on all levels if you want to get the 100%.

As you kill enemies or get gems, your relic power charges and all the points that you get from kills double when its half, and triple when its full. If you get hit the meter depletes, so its very important that you don't get hit for long periods of time when going for this, that's the best way to rack up those points fast. In most levels you can get to the top goal half way thought the level by not getting hit at all.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/433/09.jpg

Overachiever (B)

Complete any level-specific Reward Challenge.

Each level has 2 or 3 challenges, but they're really really simple, like cross a river without touching the water, and every specific challenge pops a message when you get to the area related to that challenge so its really hard to miss them. And since you will be going though each level twice, its very easy to get all of these.

If you require help with a specific challenge, post and ill gladly help.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/433/06.jpg

Beat a Better Mouse Trap (B)

Activate all of the spikes at once in the Spider Tomb spike field.

This is in the 3rd level, the Spider Tomb. You will recognize the room hen you get to a place that is mostly covered by spike traps.

Use this video to do it since its kinda hard to explain with words.

Tomb Raider (G)

Collect all relics, artifacts and weapons.

You can get almost all the other trophies in a few minutes but this one is going to take a few hours to get, since you will have to beat all challenges, speed runs and also get all the collectibles within each level. The only things that you can "skip" are ammo and health upgrades but those are really useful for the game so they are worth finding anyway.

Criticism is welcome? I've got one. I, I, I!! ;)

The first chance you have of doing this is at the beginning of the second level, since its the first time you will be facing "shooting" enemies. The way you hold up your shield is by holding R1 + L1, but in order to return a projectile you will need to press the buttons right as the projectile is about to hit you.

Actually not true at all :D

Just hold the L1 (the one wich is responsible for holding the shild in front) and just walk towards shooting enemies. One projectile will bounce right back to the enemy and will kill him. Ding. Trophy ;)

Three Birds One Stone is also easy in the end of the second level. Just put a bomb on the ornament with the 4 suns under the pyramid and wait for the spiders. 5-7 dead instantly. Peace of cake ;)

Some of the trophies are glitched, and for some people they're not unlocking at all.

I had problems with the second hidden trophy - I completed the level, but the trophy didn't unlock. Replaying it, but skipping the ending scene and the credits worked for me. I've read people are also having trouble with Instant Sushi.

Oh and for the two hidden trophies, you have them as silver and gold, but they're bronze and silver.

Edit: Also for the Tomb Raider trophy, I don't think you need to get and do *everything*, the ammo and health upgrades should be skippable. It's possible it just glitched for me, but I received the trophy when I still had an ammo upgrade left. It does match up with the trophy description anyway.

After having spent most the night playing this game, I can't help but feel the missed opportunity for trophies, they should have added kill achievements, and some for weapons, like going a full level using just the spear...12 trophies does not reflect how much content is in the game and the amount of variety in combat.

Yeah, considering I got most of the trophies on the first level, it could have been done a bit differently.

Honestly though, when a game is great, a lackluster trophy list can be forgiven. And I still have plenty of time left to work on the Tome Raider trophy.

Yeah the game is awesome, probably the best thing on the store for the price, I think it could easily have had a Platinum, (like COD Classic).

Yep it can be forgiven for having a poor list, but it's such a shame, for variety and replay ability, that they didn't do it different. I mean, the Tomb Raider trophy could potentially be broken down into 5 or 6 trophies, instead of just one for doing it all lol.

I hope there is DLC for this but I doubt it. :D

Yes , they trully missed out on the opportunity for alot more trophies and a Platinum . There could have been at least 30-40 trophies in this game easy. But none the less this is by far the best PSN game that I have bought in a very long time , if not the BEST :). I hope I can finish this before next week , cause if I don't Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow may have to wait untill I'm done:D

Hey guys i think i figured out how to ensure the trophies will always work rather then trying tricks and hoping they will. So the trophies have not been working for me off and on and i thought of a way to ensure i know when they are working rather then guessing.

First, play any game a downlaodable one or a disc game then wait for it to get to the main menu of that game. Once it does push the ps button and go to trophies, make sure that the game you are playing is now at the top of your list. (If your trophies are set up alphabetically change it to recently played games so that your most recent game will show up first). Then once it is at the top exit the game.

Now, start up Lara Croft and the guardian of light and let it get to the main menu (where it says single player, multiplayer etc.) then click the ps button and check your trophy list. Now if Lara Croft is not first on your trophey list then this means the trophy list has not synced with the game. Now exit the game and boot up Lara Croft again. Keep doing this until Lara Croft is at the top of your list, once it is the trophies should now work. It may take several tries but this will ensure that the trophies will work until you quit the game again.

Once you quit the game you will have to repeat the process over again but i think this is much better then doing the requirements over and over again hoping they will work. Hope this helps all of you this strategy has not let me down since I figured it out.

I appreciate both links guys, thanks. Can't wait for more info on this and how Crystal Dynamics develop it.

Yeah I would agree it's the best thing on the store. I guess with there being DLC planned (hopefully with a 8-10 trophies per DLC) in the end the game will have a good trophy set, all be it without a Platinum.

I would have no complaints about buying DLC for this game, it's worth every penny, and IMO vastly underrated, Metacritic has it down for an 84 I think.
