Rank Chart 1, - Leveling Up The player earns ADAM by playing online matches and completing trials. As they collect ADAM, they level up. With each level advancement they will unlock new weapons, plasmids, and gene tonics to customize their loadout. There are forty levels of character advancement and four "clubs", with ten levels of advancement per club.At the start of the multiplayer experience, the player only has access to the Pistol and the Shotgun, as well as the Electro Bolt, Incinerate!, and Winter Blast plasmids, with no gene tonics. However, after advancing through the game they will receive the Machine Gun, followed by other new tools. Along with combat-oriented gifts, players are able to change their character's cosmetic traits. ADAM needed to rank up to key levels: -Rank 10: 9000 ADAM. -Rank 20: 25500 ADAM. -Rank 30: 53000 ADAM. -Rank 40: 97000 ADAM. 2, - ADAM Rewards When a player contributes in some way to their team or to themselves they receive an ADAM reward, the size of which depends on the action. Here is the list of known ADAM rewards: -Kill Reward: 10 ADAM. Granted upon killing an enemy. -Assist Reward: 5 ADAM. Granted upon dealing damage to an enemy without having dealt the killing blow. -Big Daddy Takedown Reward: 100 ADAM. Granted upon killing the Big Daddy. -Hack Reward: 10 ADAM. Granted upon successfully hacking a machine. -Research Photo Reward: 10 ADAM. Granted upon successfully researching an enemy corpse. -ADAM Vial Reward: 10 ADAM. Granted upon collecting one of the ADAM vials scattered across the level. -Killing Streaks Reward: 50 ADAM. Granted upon killing three enemies in a row without dying. -Big Daddy Suit Reward: 50 ADAM. Granted upon picking up a Big Daddy Suit in the level. -Trial Complete Reward: Varies depending on the trial and its level (see below). Granted upon completing a trial. Trials are challenges the player can complete, usually requiring them to perform a particular action several times. Trials have two levels: Trial and Trial Advanced. Beginner trials are easier to complete, and yield a large ADAM reward. Advanced trials are harder to achieve, and are usually unlocked after completing the Trial version, but yield twice the ADAM reward. 2-1, - Trials Weapon Trials: 3,Heavy Hitter - Get 30 kills over time with Melee! Maps: -Arcadia -Farmer's Market -Fontaine's Home for the Poor -Fort Frolic -Hephaestus -Kashmir Restaurant -Medical Pavilion -Mercury Suites -Neptune's Bounty -Point Prometheus "I say keep a eye on what maps you have played and make a check list so you know out of the 10 you have played so you can work for that trophy. "Man About Town" Its will help it is easy to say you will get it just by playing but if you know what you got you can try to veto the map to something else." 4, - Game Modes There are seven different game modes included in BioShock 2. Each supports up to ten players. Team-based game modes divide the players into two factions: those fighting for Andrew Ryan and those battling under Atlas. Scores are marked in the top right corner of the HUD, with the one at the top representing the winning score. Game modes: - Survival of the Fittest Survival of the Fittest is the basic free-for-all deathmatch mode: each player is tasked with killing all other players as often as possible. The player with the most kills by the end of the match wins the game. - Civil War Civil War is the game's team deathmatch mode: players are split into two teams, and each team is tasked with killing as many players of the other team as possible. The team with the most kills by the end of the match wins. - Last Splicer Standing Last Splicer Standing is the game's "arena" mode. Like Survival of the Fittest, it is free-for-all and requires each player to kill the other players. However, players in this game mode do not respawn upon death. This means the winner is, effectively, the last Splicer standing. This is the only game mode where it is impossible to be in a Big Daddy Suit in the level. - Turf War Turf War is the game's "King of the Hill" mode: players are split into two teams, and are tasked with capturing and holding the control points present in the level. A player in proximity of a neutral or enemy control point will gradually charge up a meter, which will earn their team the control point if it fills up completely. The team who managed to maintain control over the most points for the longest amount of time by the end of the match wins. - Capture the Sister Capture the Sister is BioShock 2's take on Capture the Flag: players are split into two teams, with one of the players on one team chosen at random to become a Big Daddy. One of the two teams is in possession of a Little Sister, which they must protect, while the other team's base holds a Little Sister Vent. The objective of the game is to either capture the Little Sister and bring her to the Vent as many times as possible, or prevent the enemy from doing so. Teams' roles are switched mid-round, so that the attacking team has to defend and vice-versa. The team with the most captures by the end of the round wins. - ADAM Grab ADAM Grab is a unique game mode: there is one Little Sister in the level, and each player is tasked with capturing and keeping her for as long as possible, earning ADAM continuously in the process. The player who managed to keep the Little Sister for the longest amount of time wins. - Team ADAM Grab Team ADAM Grab is the team-based variant to ADAM Grab: players are split into teams, and have to capture and keep the Little Sister in the level for as long as possible. Every member of the team currently in possession of the Little Sister will receive an ADAM income. The team who managed to keep the Little Sister for the longest amount of time wins. "If you ever have played Halo 3 this game type is oddball hold it and win." Edited January 16, 2020 by Terminator Removed signature.
Pvt Rain
5 - Plasmids Plasmids have returned and some can be used in a defensive fashion as well. To give an example, Geyser Trap can be deployed in a large room and used to leap onto higher platforms to escape or set up camping spots or you can add Electro Bolt to it and making it a little shocking. The player unlocks additional Plasmids upon gaining higher ranks. Up to two plasmids can be equipped per loadout and the player has access to a selection of eight different plasmids, three of them multiplayer-exclusive. Plasmids: -Electro Bolt: Unlocked from the start In the multiplayer, Electro Bolt will function in a way similar to the singleplayer game mode. It will temporarily stun the target, preventing them from moving or using weapons (the victim can still use plasmids while stunned, though). Hitting an electrified enemy with a melee weapon will kill them in a single shot. While Electro Bolt only deals a very small amount of damage to enemies on dry land, it will deal a severe amount of damage to targets in water, and can temporarily electrify pools of the liquid. Electro Bolt can be charged for greater damage and an increased stun duration. Along with Incinerate! and Winter Blast, this plasmid is available to the player from the start. -Incinerate!: Unlocked from the start In the multiplayer, Incinerate! will function similarly to its singleplayer counterpart, with a few notable differences. First of all, while enemies hit by the plasmid will still take continuous damage, their speed and attack rate will be greatly increased. Incinerate! can also be used to unfreeze teammates and friendly machines under the effects of Winter Blast as well as melt ice. If on fire, running into enemies ignite them as well, along with any flammable object the player runs into. Incinerate! can be charged for greater damage and area of effect. It is unlocked right from the start of the game. -Winter Blast: Unlocked from the start In the multiplayer, Winter Blast works slightly different from its singleplayer version. Enemies under the effects of this plasmid will have their speed and attack rate severely reduced instead of stopped outright. However, they will be much easier to kill, and a melee hit or an Aero Dash will shatter a frozen enemy in one shot. Shattered enemies cannot be researched. However, Winter Blast will still be able to completely disable enemy Turrets for a moment. Casting Winter Blast on a teammate or friendly machine will extinguish their flames if they had been ignited using Incinerate!. This plasmid can also be used to douse fires, and can be charged for an increased slowdown time. Along with Electro Bolt and Incinerate!, this plasmid is unlocked at the start of the game. -Aero Dash (multiplayer only): Unlocked at Rank 4 Aero Dash is a BioShock 2 Multiplayer-exclusive plasmid which gives the user a temporary speed boost upon activation. Players using Aero Dash are represented with their left elbow pointed outwards, and cannot attack or change direction mid-dash. When using this plasmid, running into an enemy player will throw them to the ground, dealing them damage as well as stunning them. Running into a frozen enemy will shatter them. If the enemy is between the player and a wall, they will be pinned to it. This plasmid is unlocked at Rank 4. -Geyser Trap (multiplayer only): Unlocked at Rank 8 "This is online only as it is a prototype of Cyclone Trap so by the time in the story its 10 years from one Cyclone Trap is used not Geyser both work the same." A prototype of the original Cyclone Trap, Geyser Trap allows traps to be placed, which when touched, will shoot out a burst of water, throwing enemies into the air. The caster can also use this feature to perform powerful jumps. This plasmid is unlocked at Rank 8. -Telekinesis: Unlocked at Rank 12 Telekinesis is unlocked at Rank 12, and works like the plasmid in the story. Objects can be picked up and drawn in from up to long distances. Not much to say about this one. -Houdini Plasmid (multiplayer only): Unlocked at Rank 16 The Houdini Plasmid is a BioShock 2 Multiplayer-exclusive plasmid which will allow the user to turn invisible. When using this plasmid, disappearing and reappearing creates the same "cloud" effect as Houdini Splicers. When invisible, the user cannot attack or perform any sort of action, but can still take damage. The plasmid continuously drains EVE while it is activated. This plasmid is unlocked at Rank 16. -Insect Swarm: Unlocked at Rank 20 Insect Swarm will be the last plasmid received by the player, and is unlocked at Rank 20. In addition to dealing minor damage to the target over time, using this plasmid on an enemy will blur their vision for the duration of the plasmid, severely disrupting their aim. Pvt Rain
6 - Weapons A total of seven different weapons are available to the player, though some are only unlocked when leveling up. Weapons have been altered from their versions in BioShock for the multiplayer environment, so that they have a faster rate of fire, do less damage, etc. Melee in particular is different in that there will be a quick-melee button and not an actual weapon. Each character has his/her own unique melee weapon, although this is only a cosmetic change. Each weapon can be upgraded with a choice between two upgrades per weapon, although only one upgrade can be equipped per weapon. The Research Camera exists in the form of a research option: passing near an enemy corpse opens a prompt offering the player the option to research the dead enemy. Doing so renders the player temporarily vulnerable, but grants them a damage bonus against that enemy upon researching them. Weapon List: Pistol: Unlocked from the start. -Automatic Firing Mode: unlocked at Rank 5. Allows the Pistol to fire on full-auto, but reduces its maximum fire rate. -Damage Upgrade: unlocked at Rank 27. Increases the Pistol's damage output at the expense of fire rate. DLC- Extended Clip: Unlocked with Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack. Increases the Pistol's clip to nine shots. Shotgun: Unlocked from the start. -Higher Rate of Fire: unlocked at Rank 9. Increases the Shotgun's rate of fire at the expense of its range. -Auto-Reload: unlocked at Rank 29. Reloads the Shotgun automatically after firing, but slows its fire rate. DLC- Sawn-Off: unlocked with Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack. Enhances damage but increases spread. Tommy Gun: Unlocked at Rank 2. -33% Clip Increase: unlocked at Rank 13. Increases the Tommy Gun's clip from thrity to forty rounds before having to reload."Will have 40 rounds with this on." -Recoil Decrease: unlocked at Rank 31. Decreases the Tommy Gun's recoil when firing, but slows its rate of fire. DLC- Fire Rate Increase: unlocked with Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack. Increases fire rate, but creates bigger spread. Grenade Launcher: Unlocked at Rank 6. -Heat-Seeking RPGs: unlocked at rank 17. Converts the Grenade Launcher's Frag Grenades into Heat-Seeking RPGs, which zero in on the target closest to the reticule. Also reduces explosion radius. -Velocity Boost: unlocked at rank 33. Greatly increases the speed of the Grenade Launcher's Frag Grenades. DLC- Faster Firing: unlocked with Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack. Upgrades clip size to 4 and increases fire rate, but does less damage. Crossbow: Unlocked at Rank 10. -Damage Boost: unlocked at rank 21. Increases the Crossbow's damage output, but greatly slows its fire rate. -Rate of Fire Boost: unlocked at rank 35. Increases the Crossbow's rate of fire, but makes it do far less damage. DLC- Piercing Shot: unlocked with Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack. Shots pass through multiple targets, but the reload rate is diminished. Nail Gun: Unlocked at Rank 14. -Extended Magazine: unlocked at rank 23. Increases the Nail Gun's clip size, allowing the user to fire more shots before having to reload. -Damage Increase: unlocked at rank 37. Increases the Nail Gun's damage output, but decreases its accuracy. DLC- Burst Fire: Unlocked with Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack. The Nail Gun fires in five-round bursts, increasing accuracy somewhat. Elephant Gun: Unlocked at Rank 18. -Sniper Scope: unlocked at rank 25. Adds a scope to the Elephant Gun, providing increased accuracy at long ranges while severely restricting the user's view up close. -Damage Increase: unlocked at rank 39. Increases the Elephant Gun's damage output, but lowers its rate of fire. DLC- Extended Clip: Unlocked with Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack. Doubles the clip of the Elephant Gun. 6-1 - Becoming a Big Daddy The player can become a Rosie by finding a Big Daddy Suit, which spawns randomly in the level. Once the player becomes a Rosie they will have access to the Rivet Gun, six Proximity Mines, and a Big Daddy stomp which stuns nearby enemy players. However, the player will lose the ability to use plasmids as long as they remain in the suit, and will also lose all research bonuses they may have accrued previously. Friendly Rosies produce a blue light from their portholes while an enemy Rosie's shine red. When turning into a Big Daddy, the player's health will be significantly increased, although their health will no longer regenerate. Killing the Rosie also yields a significantly bigger ADAM reward, which places said Rosie as a prime target. Once the Big Daddy is defeated, the suit will spawn again elsewhere in the level. 7 - Gene Tonics The player's character will gain new tonics when leveling up. Up to three tonics can be equipped at a time, and the player can choose from a selection of seventeen different gene tonics, each granting the player a passive bonus. Tonic List: -Master Researcher: unlocked at Rank 3 It significantly reduces the time it takes to Research an enemy, more than halving the time. -Security Evasion: unlocked at Rank 3 When equipped, it decreases the accuracy of enemy Turrets firing at the player. -Speedy Recovery: unlocked at Rank 7. It significantly increases regeneration rate of the player's Health. -EVE Saver: unlocked at Rank 7. When equipped, it decreases the amount of EVE used by plasmids. -Back Stabber: unlocked at Rank 11. When equipped, the player deals additional melee damage if striking from behind the opponent. -Metabolic EVE: unlocked at Rank 15. When equipped, the player slowly regenerates EVE during a match. -Sabotage: unlocked at Rank 19. When equipped, the player does increased damage to Turrets. -Repairman: unlocked at Rank 22. When equipped, the player is able to repair broken Turrets. -Speedy Hacker: unlocked at Rank 24. It greatly reduces the hacking time for Turrets and Circus of Values Vending Machines. -Slugger: unlocked at Rank 26. When equipped, it allows the player to charge up their melee attack to inflict extra damage. -Leg Up:unlocked at Rank 28. When equipped, the player is able to charge their jumps, allowing them to reach higher places. -Fast Feet, unlocked at Rank 30. Fast Feet adds a bit to your movement speed and makes your footsteps quieter. -Deadly Machines: unlocked at Rank 32. Friendly turrets deal more damage. -Head Hunter: unlocked at Rank 34. It increases headshot damage dealt to Enemies. -Big Game Hunter: unlocked at Rank 36. Big Game Hunter adds more damage to all your attacks to Big Daddy players. -Death Trap: unlocked at Rank 38. It causes the player's body to explode after killed. -Resurrection: unlocked at Rank 40. When equipped, it allows the player to resurrect with very low Health when dead. Pvt Rain
8 - Some Q and A Q. Can I get the Big Daddy suit in Capture the Sister game mode? A. No you can not, But it can be gotten in other game modes keep reading the Qs and As for more Big Daddy Info and any Trophy based questions are better off asked here- http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/bioshock-2/36946-bioshock-2-trophy-guide-road-map.html "Thanks yazter for all your hard work." Q. Can we choose to remove big daddy suits from multiplayer matches? A. The suit does not appear in 3 of the 7 total game modes, it's not present in ADAM Grab, Team ADAM Grab and Last Splicer Standing. For the other modes, you can't 'turn it off'. I'll talk about suit spawning shortly, it's not totally random... Q. Is there Friendly fire for Online? A. Nope. Q. How do you recover health and EVE? Is it automatic over time? Do you need to stop by dispenseries? A. Health regens automatically, after a few seconds without taking damage. There is a tonic that speeds up this regeneration slightly, called Speedy Recovery. EVE does not regen by default, forcing you to run to dispensers to refill. The tonic EVE Metabolism does grant slow EVE regen though, and the tonic EVE Saver gives you more total EVE. Q. Can you change your character throughout multiplayer A. You can switch your character between every match. Both who you play as, his appearance, and your loadouts. Q. If I play online with a certain character for a month then decide to try out a new character to get a new look, will all my stats and unlocks be ported over to that character? A. Your stats and your choice of character are not linked in any way. Well, except the Favorite Character stat Feel free to mix it up, see who you like best. Q. I understand that the big daddy suit will spawn randomly. Does this mean it will have a limited number of places it can spawn on each map (like say 6 certain spots)? Or can it spawn anywhere on the maps and show up in essentially an infinate number of places? A. Each map has 3=4 spots the suit can spawn in, so it's not totally random. Usually in open places. Also, the suit is on a 2 minutes timer, so 2 minutes into the match it'll spawn in one of 3-4 locations, and 2 minutes after a BD goes down another will spawn in one of 3-4 locations. You can 'game it' if your team is experienced. In Capture the Sister, BD is forced on the defending team, there is no suit pickup."So in short, These spots are pre-determined." Q. Will certain characters, like Buck Raleigh, have larger amounts of space in which you can hit them, compared to a slimmer character like Blanche? A. No, all hit boxes are shared between character models. This way you pick the one whose personality you like most, not who has a gameplay advantage. Q. Attachments? A. Each weapon has access to 2 different upgrades (players can only equip one at a time). These are meant to offer different functionality, not really 'better'. For example the pistol gets a Damage Increase upgrade, but it also reduces shooting speed, adds recoil, etc. Q. Is there a kill cam? A. You mean something that plays the last second of your killer from his point of view? Nothing that fancy. But when you die the camera switches to third person and orients towards your killer, before jumping into spectator mode following him - that way you still get a good idea of who killed you, how, and from where. Q. Just a quick question though, is there a method in the matchmaking which will prevent high level players from joining very low level player's sessions? I can only assume that a high level player will clean the floor with his higher unlocked gear. A. Nope yet this is one of the down falls to the online maybe at one point we will see a update or something on 2Ks part. Q. What load outs do you use online? A. I use the Elephant Gun W/Sniper Scope and the Pistol W/Damage Upgrade and for my plasmids I use Insect Swarm and Electro Bolt, Umm Gene Tonics at this time are Master Researcher,Speedy Recovery,Fast Feet thats my fav load out but your not getting my other two XP go get your own load outs lol. Q. I am wondering if you can get to level 40 by playing private matches. Me and a friend are very competitive and like to play each other without anyone there. It would be good if we were to level up at the same time. A. No you can not you can only level up and get ADAM in public games. Q. What does the "Sinclair Solutions Test Pack" Have in it and any Trophies? A. The "Sinclair Solutions Test Pack" has Rank cap is raised from 40 to 50. Twenty new Multiplayer Trials. * New playable characters: Louie McGraff ("The Jailbird") and Oscar Calraca ("The Playboy"). Third weapon upgrade for all weapons. Five new masks. * *Some items are only available after the player achieves a rank of 41 or higher. Q. What does the "Rapture Metro Pack" Have in it and any Trophies? A. Here is what the map pack has in it... - Contents 1. Rank cap raised to 50 (for those who had not already purchased the previous DLC) 2. Six new maps: Dionysus Park (BioShock 2 Multiplayer) Fighting McDonagh's (BioShock 2 Multiplayer) Fontaine Fisheries (BioShock 2 Multiplayer) Pauper's Drop (BioShock 2 Multiplayer) Siren Alley (BioShock 2 Multiplayer) Smuggler's Hideout (BioShock 2 Multiplayer) 3. New "Rebirth" feature, which lets players who reached rank 50 start over at rank 1 with a/the special mask(s). 4. Two new masks for the Rebirth feature. 5. Kill 'em Kindly Downloadable Gamemode included. 6. Three new achievements and trophies. It cost $9.99 [uS] or (800 Microsoft Points) for those with a Xbox 360 and wanted to know. "Want more Info? F8L Fool
Estimated trophy difficulty: 5/10 Total Trophies: 12 (10(B) 1(S) 1(G)) Approximate amount of time to complete: 15-25 hours (more or less depending on your luck with the "Mother Goose" trophy, and your overall skill level) Glitched Trophies: "Mother Goose" sometimes doesn't unlock on your first few attempts. Do cheats disable trophies?: There currently are no cheats for multiplayer. Roadmap Steps: 1.) Settings: Before starting your first multiplayer match it's best to go into the apartment, press start, and adjust your settings. Specifically within the "Multiplayer Options" category. After selecting "Mutliplayer Options" go to "Customize Controls" and choose the button layout you wish to use. I personally prefer that my firing button be (for the PS3 controller only lol), jump to be , and so on. By default however those are not the settings and I had to change them after I realized I wasn't comfortable with the default layout. After that you should start playing your first match to see how you feel about the sensitivity. If it's not good, AFTER the game is over go back into the apartment and make it slower or faster. I say after because if you do it while in game you could risk dying. 2.) Gametype: Considering that the most difficult and time consuming trophy in the game is "Choose the Impossible" (Reach Rank 40 in MP), you probably want to know the fastest/efficient way to obtain said Rank. The fastest, and funnest way (the latter being purely opinion) is to play the "Survival of the Fittest" gametype. It is the BioShock 2 equivalent of "Free-for-All", and pits ten players against each other on all of the regular maps, because there is no "team" maps, or "solo" maps. If you want to know why this is the best gametype to play for leveling the fastest, read the below spoiler. ***From here on out I will be writing under the assumption that you are playing "Survival of the Fittest"*** Here's reasons why this is the best gametype: [spoiler=Ranking Up Fast] 1.) Best Researching: Because it is a Free-For-All gametype you have the maximum number of players to research (9 when the game is full), as opposed to the other gametypes where you maximum number is 5 (when the game is full). Even if a "Survival of the Fittest" game isn't full, you still have 5 people to research, which is the MAX you could in a team game! Researching gives you 10 ADAM a pop, and can be done on every player in the game. Not only that, but if you die to a player you have researched you can do it again to them, because you lose your research bonus. In comparison killing a player is 10 ADAM! So essentially you are getting the equal amount of points for researching someone, as you are for killing them. Not only that but you can research anyone, not just the players you have killed! Not only that but when you research someone you do bonus damage to them, which in turn makes getting kills that much easier. 2.) Easier Kills, Killstreaks, and Assists: Another reason why this is the best gametype for farming ADAM is because you have more people to shoot at, with less focusing fire on you. In team games 5 people are all working together to kill you. Often it's 2v1 in a team game, which makes trying to get kills and killstreaks exponentially more difficult. You will also have more people to damage via hacked turrets and vending machines. The more your turrets shoot at people, the better chance you have of getting assists. If two players are fighting on the OPPOSITE side of the map within the line of sight of your turret, and one of them takes damage from it and dies, you get an assist! An assist is worth 5 points, which is half the value you get for actually killing them. If you hack a lot of turrets you will get many, many, many more assists and even outright kills. 3.) Speed of Games: Your typical "Survival of the Fittest" match will run roughly 8 minutes, give or take a minute. Because of the speed of the game you will get a lot more ADAM from your "Match Standing" upon completion. That number will range from 200 ADAM for first, to 80 ADAM for 10th. So if you were to complete ten games at 8 minutes per (1 hour and 20 minutes), and come in even 10th place with ZERO kills/assists/etc. you'd clock 800 adam, which I hope will never be the case lol. In contrast some "Capture the Sister" games (the type many believe to be the best for points), can last a very, very, very long time until a draw occurs. Your average CTS game will last at least 4-5 rounds (at 3 minutes per round), and sometimes far longer. Not only that but because it's a team game you have less people to shoot at, have to SHARE turret/machine hacks with your team (which is a giant downside to team games), and it really hurts your K/D as well. 4.) Big Daddy Kills/Killing: Because you don't have to worry about a team mate picking up the Big Daddy Suit, you don't have to worry about someone on your team getting A: a ton of kills, or B: getting the suit so you can't kill the Big Daddy for your trophy and ADAM. Killing a Big Daddy is worth 100 points, which is no small amount. Conversely you also get more chances to kill people if you become the Big Daddy. Seeing how there are a maximum of 9 targets you can kill, rather than 5, you have a chance to really rake in the kills with the suit if you use it correctly. I've gotten over 10 kills while in the suit on several occasions, which is a 10:1 or even 10:0 (if you finish the game out without dying in it), ratio while in the suit. 3.) Clean Up: If you have not unlocked every trophy besides "Choose the Impossible" by the time you reach your mid 30's, you should focus on whatever trophy you are missing. Most likely the sole trophy you will be missing (if any) will be "Mother Goose", because if you did as I suggested and played "Survival of the Fittest" exclusively, you will have never even stepped into a "Capture the Sister" game until you NEED to unlock this trophy. Tips & Tricks: These are by no means mandatory to read in order to unlock the trophies. However; I guarantee they will greatly improve your success in the multiplayer aspect of the game. There are a ton of tips and tricks that are worth mastering. These are simply things that had I known when I first started out, I would have reached Rank 40 even faster, with a even higher K/D, and enjoyed myself more overall. Here are all the tips and tricks I believe everyone should know: 1.) Hack & Research ALWAYS: Hacking and Researching enemies are both worth 10 ADAM. That amount is worth as much as killing an enemy, and not only assists you further with getting kills, but is far easier to do (in most cases lol) than outright killing someone. Because you have sometimes 9 other enemies to kill it is much more likely that you will get assists and kills thanks to those hacks, which further increases the value of every single hack you come across! 2.) Play for Killstreaks: A Killstreak in BioShock 2 is three kills, not two! Whenever you kill three players in a row without dying you will be given a bonus of 50 ADAM, with a message saying "Killstreak!: 50 ADAM" that will pop up. If you think of it in terms of kills, just for killing a third person without dying you are given 5 bonus kills. So, that third kill in reality is worth 60 points, not 10! So whenever you do reach two kills do whatever it takes to play it safe and/or camp to preserve that killstreak until you get the third kill. After getting the kill play like you would normally play, because there is no bonus for getting 6 kills, 9 kills, and so on (even though there should be in my opinion). So always keep track of when you have gotten two kills, so you know to preserve it. I personally achieved 339 killstreaks on my way to rank 40, and that number would have been substantially higher had I not played a lot of "Capture the Sister", and fully understood the function of the Killstreak from the outset. 3.) Winning ISN'T Everything!: You get 200 points for coming in first place in any gametype in BioShock 2. You get 150 for second. While coming in first is obviously a nice little bonus, it's not so large that you should destroy your K/D rushing out for kills, or skip researches/hacks for that matter. At Rank 40 I had a total of 1903 kills, with 1450 Hacks/Researches. That's almost an equal amount of points! Don't stress out over coming in 1st, just make sure you played to collect as much ADAM as you can. 4.) Collect ALL ADAM vials: ADAM vials are small red vials scattered throughout the level. Typically they are found in pairs near one another, but in some cases you will find three or even four in a small area. Each vial is worth 10 ADAM, so always be on the lookout for them and go out of your way to get them every chance you get. Also try and remember their locations and make your way to them, because they don't respawn. Think of an ADAM vial as a free kill. Would you pass up a free kill? I don't think so! F8L Fool
5.) Houdini Plasmid = Best Friend: The Houdini Plasmid allows you to go completely invisible. The only way to really counter it is to catch someone on fire, or use a grenade launcher to finish the target off and track their movement. You can use it for 4 full seconds with a full EVE bar, and 5 seconds if you are using EVE Saver. It's so good it deserves its own subsection on how to use it within this tips section: A.) Evasion: If you are shot first EVER (as in flanked, not just them getting the shot off first lol), immediately use Houdini and take evasive measures. If they hurt you considerably do not go visible until you are at 100% health and in advantageous position. B.) Use Houdini as your primary Plasmid: The problem with the other plasmids is they aren't that effective unless you charge them. Charging them makes a noise, and it drains your EVE greatly, sometimes fully, and they have very little defensive value. Not only that but they require a MINIMUM EVE USAGE to activate, which means if you are "low" on EVE, you can't use them, which isn't the case with Houdini. C.) Know when to fight and when to run: Don't run head on into a Big Daddy, or someone camping next to a Turret or Vending machine. Sometimes it's best to just go invisible and seek out a new target. That's the beauty of it it. Don't risk fighting someone if they have the advantage. The great thing about the Houdini plasmid is the versatility of it. You can use it to get away from someone when you are very low health, and STAY hidden until you're full health. You can go invisible and get behind someone after they see you, giving you a very easy kill. I firmly believe that the Houdini plasmid is the best plasmid in the game, and nothing comes even remotely near its flexibility. 6.) Stay at FULL EVE: This is especially true if you are using Houdini as I suggested in the previous tip. There's no reason to try and engage someone with less than full EVE. The first thing you should do if you're at anything but full is seek out a vending machine, or snag the very first EVE Hypo that you see. Which leads way to a big reason for the next tip... 7.) Fight near (not on) your hacked Vending Machines...and Turrets...: Vending Machines give you both ammo AND Eve. So if you roam off a bit from your machine and you kill someone and deplete your EVE, you can just go back and restock EVE AND Ammo really fast. Not only that but if say that you go off to hunt, and you see the notification that your "Vending Machine has been hacked", you know that you can go back to it immediately to either find someone and kill them, or a free 10 points from the hack, or both which is 30 points (Kill + Hack + Research if you don't already have it on them). Fighting NEAR turrets and not ON your turret is also an amazing thing. If you're within earshot of your turret you can hear when it fires on someone, and can rush back to the area. Often you will find a damaged player attempting to hack your turret. You can either LET THEM and kill them RIGHT after, then hack it back, or kill them outright and not risk them getting away, or someone else killing them. Not only that, but when someone IS trying to hack your turret frequently they are low or out of EVE because they just used an ability to stop it . 7.) Never stand behind a turret, ever: Turrets draw attention to the spot. They're noisy, people see where they took damage from and look, AND everyone wants to hack it for points and potential kills/assists. If you are standing behind a turret you will most likely get your ass handed to you in some form or fashion. Be it a huge burst of a plasmid coming at you with the hopes of it disabling the turret, or someone flanking you doing exactly what I suggested in the above step. 8.) Grenades, Grenades, and more Grenades: The Grenade Launcher is the second best weapon in the game. It's the only sure counter to someone using the Houdini plasmid on you, and it's an amazingly effective killing machine. It too requires a subsection of tips, because using it correctly is that crucial in MP dominance and success: A.) Anti-Houdini: Because so many people are now using/mastering Houdini, it's obviously nice to have a counter to it. Whenever you see someone use Houdini on you you have two choices: 1.) If they are hurt they will run AWAY most likely, so fire in the general area of where they were, then slightly further away, 2.) if they aren't hurt they will most likely approach you, so back up and start firing just in front of you because they will be trying to flank you...DO NOT LET THEM... B.) Don't use mods: The Homing mod doesn't track a player in Houdini. Furthermore it also is a pain in the ass to be accurate with. If you're trying to hit a moving target it won't always do the job. It's best to aim right at the toes of a player, as it will do almost the same damage and be much more accurate/consistent. C.) Suicide is always an option: Don't give them the satisfaction of a kill. If someone gets the jump on you, or you KNOW you are going to die (like no health and no way out), suicide. If they're low health too and near you just shoot it dead into their face and kill yourself AND them. U lose no ADAM, and they get no kill for it. Or if you're very very low health and they got the jump on you just aim straight down and blast your ass. Again, they get no kill but you lose no points and die anyway like you would have. Giving someone a kill is a big deal considering that you're competing with the enemy for the most kills. 9.) Telekinesis Instant Kills: If you use gas cans (small red cans like you see in the single player) on a player it is an instant kill if it hits them, or lands near them. You can find about 5-6 of them on almost every map. Furthermore using Telekinesis on a Big Daddie's proximity mine is also an instant kill on a player, and an amazing way to A) Deal huge damage/kill a Big Daddy, and B) Prevent the Big Daddy from getting even more kills on unsuspecting players in the area. I always use this Plasmid and Houdini. Trophies: http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/309/49.jpg Proving Grounds Won your first non-private match. Self-explanatory. Just win a non-private match within any gametype to unlock. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/309/43.jpg Two-Bit Heroics Completed your first trial in a non-private match. A "Trial" is simply an optional goal/challenge you can complete within multiplayer that will in turn reward you with ADAM (needed to rank up). You must complete a simple task like use X plasmid Y number of times (first ones you get), to more complex ones like killing a Big Daddy all by yourself, or electrocuting three enemies at once. They are similar to the "Challenges" in Modern Warfare 2. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/309/38.jpg Welcome to Rapture Complete your first non-private match. Finish your first game and this will unlock. If you quit or the host quits it will not unlock, which is what actually happened to me in my first match. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/309/39.jpg Unnatural Selection Scored your first kill in a non-private match. Very easy trophy. Kill someone, get the trophy. Easy as pie. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/309/40.jpg Disgusting Frankenstein Become a Big Daddy for the thirst time in a non-private match. Every three minutes a "Big Daddy Suit" will spawn at a random location on the map. It has designated spawn points, just like a player would. It will be flashing yellow and be laying on the floor. Simply walk up to it and activate it like you would if you were hacking something, or researching someone. Only one can spawn at a time, so the three minute timer will not begin until the current one on the map is used and destroyed. It's best not to fixate on trying to get this. It will most likely happen while you're playing at some point or time, as long as you actually make the effort to walk up and use it when you come across it. It also can spawn when someone is near it (even on it) and often does. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/309/41.jpg "Mr. Bubbles-- No!" Took down your first Big Daddy in a non-private match. You must have the killing blow on the Big Daddy to get this trophy! Simply assisting your team, or other players with killing it will not grant you the trophy. The best gametype to unlock this in is "Capture the Sister". Reason being that you are GUARANTEED to see someone use the Big Daddy on the enemy team within the match. Some gametypes you'll either never see the Big Daddy used, or it will be your team that gets all of them which makes it impossible for you to kill it. Every time you are trying to "Capture", the enemy team has *1* Big Daddy spawn with them, right in front of the Little Sister. Because of this you'll always know there is a Big Daddy out there that you can kill. Not only that but you'll have a team with you to assist in killing it, which will make it go down much faster. Furthermore; you'll know the general area of it at all times, which will be near the Little Sister. Since you have to play "Capture the Sister" to unlock "Mother Goose" anyhow I would not be concerned with it until you start working "Mother Goose" to start worrying about unlocking it. F8L Fool
http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/309/44.jpg Mother Goose Saved your first Little Sister in a non-private match. This is essentially the BioShock 2 version of "Single Flag Capture". In a non-private "Capture the Sister" game you will always be on the "Capture" (offensive side) at least once in every game, and sometimes several times more if at the end of two rounds the score is tied. While on that side you are supposed to "Capture" the "Little Sister" (flag) and put her in a "Vent" (your base). In order to unlock this trophy you must personally be the one to put the Little Sister in the vent, and not just be on a team that does it. Because of this getting the Sister in the vent yourself can be very, very, very difficult. Besides having to compete with your team to be the one to actually pick it up and put her in the vent (which gives you bonus ADAM), the opposing team, which always consists of one Big Daddy, is trying their damndest to stop you at all costs. The best way to get this trophy is to assist your team in getting it NEAR your vent, then let whoever is carrying it die, then kill the people that killed them ASAP. After that just pick it up and haul ass to the vent. Do not be a hero and try to turtle it yourself (carry it slowly bit by bit) to your vent. What will happen is you will probably get it close just to die, and have your team pick it up and capture it. I suggest not doing this trophy until after you have reached at least Rank 30, that way you'll know the maps better and have a lot of utilities like the Houdini and Aero Dash plasmids, as well as various Tonics and Weapons that work wonders in this gametype. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/309/45.jpg Parasite Achieved Rank 10. See "Choose the Impossible." http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/309/46.jpg Little Moth Achieved Rank 20. See "Choose the Impossible." http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/309/47.jpg Skin Job Achieved Rank 30. See "Choose the Impossible." http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/309/48.jpg Choose the Impossible Achieved Rank 40. This is the maximum attainable rank within BioShock 2 multiplayer. As you rank up the necessary ADAM needed to proceed to the next rank grows larger and larger. Luckily however you will get much stronger Tonics, Weapons, and Plasmids to assist you in killing AND surviving. Not only that but you will unlock new Trials (challenges) that give you anywhere from 75 to 500 ADAM for completing them. MANY of the Trials are exceptionally easy ones that you will unlock just by playing. Some are so damn specific and/or luck based you will not unlock them without trying way too hard (not worth it), or getting absurdly lucky: Here's the point totals needed to reach the noteworthy ranks (Credit to Yazter for this): Rank 10: 9000 ADAM. Rank 20: 25500 ADAM. Rank 30: 53000 ADAM. Rank 40: 97000 ADAM. On average it will take 20 hours to achieve this rank. If you are extremely skilled you could certainly unlock it within 15, as it has been done a few times already. The best way to achieve this rank is to play "Survival of the Fittest". For an explanation as to why that is the best gametype to play, please refer to the "Step 2" spoiler. Also be sure to check out my full "Tips & Tricks" section at the start of this post for insider knowledge on how to amass a lot more ADAM, and be a better player overall. It personally took me 18 hours and 2 minutes. Had I not spent so much time messing around with loadout combinations, random gametypes, and being screwed in "Capture the Sister" so many times it would've taken probably 14 or 15, so stray away from useless stuff. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/309/50.jpg Man About Town Played at least one non-private match on each multiplayer map. In order for this to unlock you must have completed a game on every map, of any gametype, in a non-private room on all ten of the maps available within the BioShock 2 multiplayer. One of the big problems with this trophy is that you must play the match until it finishes. If the host closes the room (common and happened for several of my maps), you quit, or crash for some reason it doesn't count the game. The maps are not exclusive to certain gametypes, like in Halo 3, or Modern Warfare, so you can play any gametype and you'll still have a chance to experience every map available. I'd list a map list in order for you to remember what one you're missing, but since you have no control over which map you'll play it's not worth keeping track of because it's out of your hands. Simply play until it unlocks which shouldn't be very long at all. I got it around rank 8 I believe. Edited January 16, 2020 by Terminator Removed signature. F8L Fool
i noticed i cant go invisible when carrying the little sister using the houdini plasmid, dont think i could aero dash either, You can it just is delayed after picking her up because she struggles. You also have to go out of Houdini in order to pick her up.
Jack
Electrobolt+elephant gun=easy wins The gun is a headshot machine, if your second weapon is a shotgun then you can finish your opponents off if your two shots aren't headshot.

Ya I use the swarm and Elephant gun and my 2nd is the pistol with damage up in case they try and run I can drop them at long range and if someone else comes I have bullets to fight back with. Electrobolt is better because if they try to run, they can't, because just stunned them with that handly electric hand of yours, just walk up to them while they're stunned, then boom, easy kill. Oh I have bolt as my 2nd move I just like swarm because I have no hard time hitting there head I have 2000 kills and 500 head shots I just like swarm so when they try and shoot at me they cant see giving the time needed to pop there head. Lurch
telekinesis is so underrated IMO its my favorite plasmid online. between the red barrel kills, stealing big daddy mines, catching peoples grenades, and catching turrent rockets its a killing machine LOL. plus if you run out of eve holding something you continue to hold it unlike when you charge other plasmids. Not to mention you can actually recharge your EVE while holding something unlike Houdini and several others. It's definitely the most under used plasmid, and IMO the 2nd best overall. I easily got over 500 kills from gasoline barrels, and bunches from the proximity mines from Big Daddies. I personally thought a trial should've been "Kill a Big Daddy (or player) with a proximity mine using Telekinesis". Could be worth 250 since it's uber situational, but not ultra hard.
