Jay_Slim
Ken Levine Interview Thee Ken Levine, the original creator of Bioshock is not a part of Bioshock 2? at all?! And...it seems like everytime he's asked about it, he's very no comment about it and clearly states for the record, he has very little involvement in B2. at all. It's almost like now he's saying, "Umm, don't ask me, that's their (2KMarin) clusterf.. over there." Is he ashamed to even be associated with the project? I wonder what the politics were behind it? I've known about this for a while and I can't believe I haven't seen it being really discussed here, so I though I'd ask you guys. Let's examine what we know. For one, when it was initially announced, October 08, we were assured Ken Levine was going to be very involved. Nine months later, MP issues arise which had them tapping the shoulders of several studios for help. Article here=> article Days later, a delay to 2010 is announced, which brings us back to the first article I posted above. Ken Levine kind of non chalantly distancing himself from the whole thing. I absolutely loved Bioshock, but seeing this whole thing unfold makes me and has kept my interest level a little low and concerned for the franchise. Anyone ellse see it this way? widge567
You know what 2k marin wantedd to go a different direction then Mr. Levine so they parted ways for at least this game. I think it will work out though since getting a new perspective on Rapture should be great. Also the Multiplayer although I was skeptical at first at least its not gunna end up like say GTAIV since they did delay it making it a better experience for all. Jay_Slim
Ken Levine and his studio, which is now called Irrational Games, are the people who created Bioshock. They are featured in the new GI. Anyways, I'm just saying if the original creators of a franchise are not involved, it has the potential to go to shite. Take Terminator movies for example. Parts 1 & 2, phenomenal movies produced by James Cameron. Parts 3 & 4, no James Cameron and to me they were really a let down. I'm pretty sure if he had not sold the rights to the Terminator franchise and made them himself, they'd be completely different movies.
Derian
Ken Levine is the writer and lead designer for System Shock 2 and Bioshock. You should care. Like Jay Slim said it's like the Terminator series one and two with James Cameron were great, and three and four, just were not as good. Thats good to hear, rhd. I can breath a sigh of relief. I loved the first one and judging by the glowing reviews, I'll probably love Bioshock 2.
