Labreya
So, turns out a Viral campaign has been going on for Bioshock 2. I only caught the endgame stuff for it, but the site is still up. It's got cool info relating to the game as well as puzzles. There was also an incident where real life bottles of Arcadia Merlot with adverts for gene tonics and stuff in them turned up on beaches. BioShock 2 Anyway, the reason I decided to make a thread is, not just cause the site is cool (I spent hours on it) but to show the delicious schwag people won for getting involved. As with all the cool gameing crap I find, I saw all this on Kotaku, so absolutely all credit goes to their epix reporting networks. Anyway, on Saturday, October 3rd, people who had written to a P.O box discovered on the site recieved a telegram. A telegram from the main character on the site, Mark G Meltzer. The article on that was posted here: There's Someone at the Door ... - bioshock 2 - Kotaku Someone even managed to have the foresight to take a snap of the delivery guy. they really went all out. He really looks the part, and even came on a bycicle. http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/5663/deliveryguy.jpg The next day the Speedy Brothers returned, with a package, and inside was a letter and a real life, full-on Splicer mask. Not everyone recieved the same masks either, as one guy recieved the standerd "thug" splicer, with another being a new mask. That post on Kotaku can be seen here. There's Something in the Box ... - bioshock 2 - Kotaku For those who just want to see the masks, here you go. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/3637/mask1g.jpg http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/1781/mask2n.jpg The letter that came with them is also transcribed on the Kotaku article. Sorry for such a long post, but I felt that this was a particularly neat way of advertising, and deserves as much attention as it can get. I like when companies put some real effort into their games promotion for hardcore fans, and don't just release a half-assed attempt at a collectors edition.
