Introduction:

Coming to America, Tales of Xillia is the newest and arguably the best Tales game in America yet. Bringing in a new combat system, Xillia becomes more in-depth and brings a new level of fun. It also contains a first for the series with the ability to choose one of two heroes; Jude or Milla. This brings a whole new level of storytelling with two different perspectives. This game is also considered to have one of the easiest platinum trophies in a Tales game.

First Step: First Play-through

(S)
Scholar of Rieze Maxia

(S)
Traveler of Rieze Maxia

(S)
Exposer of Rieze Maxia

(G)
She Who Upholds Her Conviction

(B)
Obsessive Skit Viewer

(S)
Sub-Event Superhero

(G)
World’s Greatest Hero

In this first step you will be playing through the story and doing Sub-Events. Who you choose to play first is up to you, but this trophy guide revolves around Milla as the first play-through. You can go and enjoy the story on this step. Be sure to try and get the Devil Beasts in this play-through as well before you beat the story so you can face The Golden Knight.

Recommended trophies to start ASAP from the second step:

(B)
Leader of Links

(B)
Forger of Chains

(B)
Sous Chef

Step 2: Skill Trophies, Collectables and Clean Up

(B)
Combo Artiste

(B)
Sadist

(B)
Leader of Links

(B)
Forger of Chains

(B)
Skilled Delegator

(B)
Sous Chef

In this step you will be trying to get your skill usage up on each character’s special skill. This step will also include killing enemies, using link and chain artes, cooking, and doing various other tasks that the game asks of you. This is also the step where you try and earn enough GRADE for the GRADE shop.

Step 3: Maxing Shop Levels

(B)
Item Shop Magnate

(B)
Weapon Shop Magnate

(B)
Armor Shop Magnate

(B)
Accessory Shop Magnate

(B)
Food Vendor Magnate

In this step you will be maxing out the character and shop levels. If you don’t care to get the GRADE for your next play-through, you can abuse the save/load trick so you can put all the materials you collect for the shops all in one shop. After you max out the level, you can load the save file and max out the next shop you need.

Step 4: Speed-Run and Maxing Levels on Second Play-Through:

(S)
Black Belt

(S)
Lord of Spirits

(S)
Mercenary Legend

(S)
Graduate Channeler

(S)
Genius Tactician

(S)
Grandmaster-To-Be

(G)
He Who Acts With Conviction

(P)
Lord of Xillia

In this last step you will be grinding levels with 10x experience and finishing Jude’s story and finishing up the game and any leftover’s you have from the last play-through if you have any. Grinding levels in the second play-through is a lot easier because you have 10x experience. Maybe bringing over half levels would be a good idea, but you can reach high levels quickly without it. This is the easiest step. Congratulations on beating the game and earning your Tales of Xillia platinum!

Conclusion

Tales of Xillia is a wonderful Tales game and in my opinion probably in my top three Tales games. It’s a game that any JRPG lover should try and play. Not only is it a great game, but it has one of the easier Platinum trophies in a JRPG for those who want a quick JRPG Platinum. The story, characters, and gameplay are all very well done. If you loved Tales of Graces F you will definitely fall in love with Xillia.

Character Specific Trophies

Single Skills:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Snap Pivot Adept (B)

Perform Jude’s Snap Pivot a set number of times. Awarded to those who’ve mastered Jude in battle.

To unlock this trophy Jude must perform his Snap Pivot at least 150 times. To perform this, when in control of Jude you must hold :square: pressing the back button just as the enemy’s attack is about to land. If done correctly, Jude will disappear and reappear behind the enemy.

A good time to grind this trophy is at the tail end of Chapter 1 just before leaving for Leronde. At this time, the player will be in control of Jude with no other party members available. This will leave him the only target available in battle.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Spirit Shift Adept (B)

Perform Milla’s Spirit Shift a set number of times. Awarded to those who’ve mastered Millia in battle.

To unlock this trophy Milla must perform a Spirit Shift 150 times. This is actually quite simple to do and can be accomplished very quickly. When in control of Milla in battle, simply press :circle: to have her cast an elemental arte. Do not charge the arte as it will not count towards the Spirit Shift count.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Charge Adept (B)

Perform Alvin’s Charge a set number of times. Awarded to those who’ve mastered Alvin in Battle

To unlock this trophy Alvin must perform his Charge 150 times. This is done by pressing and holding :circle: to first form the charge before pressing :circle: again to attack the enemy with the charge. This can be supplemented with the skills Sustained Charge, allowing the player to keep their charges even if their attack misses and Speed Charge, increasing the charge speed.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Teepo Switching Adept (B)

Perform Elize’s Teepo Switching a set number of times. Awarded to those who’ve mastered Elize in battle.

To unlock this trophy, Elize must perform Teepo Switching 150 times. This is actually a very simple thing to do. When in control of Elize in battle, hold :l3: to initiate Teepo Switching, turning Teepo on or off. You may confirm this by the sight of a purple ring surrounding Elize before disappearing. However be sure to keep the skill Morale Support off as this disables the ability to switch Teepo.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Arte Tuning Adept (B)

Perform Rowen’s Arte Tuning a set number of times. Awarded to those who’ve mastered Rowen in battle.

To unlock this trophy Rowen must perform his Arte Tuning a total of 150 times. To perform this, you must use a magic based arte with Rowen, following the button prompt that occurs afterwards. If done correctly, the arte will change in function.

Some of the easier artes to use to grind this include Fireball, Wind Lance, and Rock Trine which are performed by repeatedly pressing :circle: after performing the arte.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Elongating Staff Adept (B)

Perform Leia’s Elongating Staff a set number of times. Awarded to those who’ve mastered Leia in battle.

To unlock this trophy Leia must perform her Elongating Staff a total of 150 times. To perform this, when in control of Leia you must hold :square: pressing the back button just as the enemy’s attack is about to land. If done correctly, Leia’s staff will glow white and extend for a short period of time before returning to normal. Even while extended, each subsequent success will still be counted signaled by a small chime sound.

Partner Skills:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Yeoman Healer (B)

Witness Jude’s Restore skill a set number of times. Awarded to those who partner well with Jude.

Jude has the ability to heal you should you be knocked down by an enemy. To unlock this trophy, Jude must perform his Restore skill 150 times. In order to do this, set Jude as your partner and when knocked down, do not press :square: to automatically recover. Instead, allow yourself to fall to the ground. Jude will automatically respond, using his Restore skill.

A good enemy to grind this trophy against are horse based enemies has they will frequently attack with strikes that knock you down. Be sure to have the skill Minimum Damage active with Jude as he may sometimes attack the enemy after helping you up.

thanks to CoregBlue for the grinding tip

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Skilled Binder (B)

Witness Milla’s Bind skill a set number of times. Awarded to those who partner well with Milla.

Milla has the ability to bind an enemy during a flank attack. To unlock this trophy, Milla must perform her Bind ability 150 times. In order to do this, Milla must be partnered with another member in the party and the target enemy must be stunned. If she is behind the enemy, Milla will eventually bind them.

An easy way to grind this is by partnering Alvin with Milla and performing a charged move on the enemy to stun them. Another easy method is to fight against any Wolf based enemies as Milla will bind them without the need to stun them first.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Deft Breaker (B)

Witness Alvin’s Breaker skill a set number of times. Awarded to those who partner well with Alvin.

Alvin has the ability to automatically break the enemy’s guard. To unlock this trophy, Alvin must perform his Deft Breaker skill 150 times. To do this Alvin must be partnered up within your party. Eventually when attacking a defending enemy, Alvin will break their guard counting towards the trophy.

A good enemy to grind this trophy against is any golem enemy as they start out the battle guarding and will frequently guard against attack throughout.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Soul Drainer (B)

Witness Elize’s Teepo Drain skill a set number of times. Awarded to those who partner well with Elize.

Elize has the ability to drain some of an enemy’s HP and TP, giving it to her partner. To unlock this trophy, Elize must use her Teepo drain ability 150 times. To do this you must have Elize partnered up within the party. During the course of the battle, when her partner is injured, Elize will send Teepo out towards the enemy draining some of their HP and TP and giving it to her partner. This ability is signaled by Elize making the statement “Go Teepo!” followed soon by “Sharing is caring.”

An alternate method of triggering this ability is for Elize's partner to repeatedly knock an enemy airborne with an attack by holding  while attacking with :cross:.

thanks to Multitasking for the tip

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Spirit Guardian (B)

Witness Rowen’s Auto Magic Guard skill a set number of times. Awarded to those who partner well with Rowen.

Rowen has the ability to protect his partner from an enemy’s artes. To unlock this trophy, Rowen must perform his Auto Magic Guard 150 times. In order to do this, Rowen must be partnered to yourself or any character in battle. When facing an enemy that is able to use artes, should the enemy cast it targeting his partner, Rowen will automatically defend. Regardless of whether it hits or not, it will still count so don’t worry should you still be hit.

A method to grind this trophy is by fighting Djinn types of enemies as they frequently appear in groups and will attack with magic.

thanks to CoregBlue for the grinding tip

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Career Thief (B)

Witness Leia’s Item Steal skill a set number of times. Awarded to those who partner well with Leia.

Leia has the ability to steal an item from a downed enemy. To unlock this trophy, Leia must successfully steal an item from an enemy 150 times with her Item Steam skill. In order to perform this, Leia must be partnered within the party and the target enemy must be knocked down. Any time that this happens, Leia will attempt to steal their item.

A good way to grind this out is by pairing Milla with Leia and using Milla’s Binding Sphere twice in succession. After two successful hits, the enemy will automatically be knocked to the ground, leaving them open for Leia’s ability.

Another useful method to grind this out is partnering Leia with Alvin and using a charged Terra Fissure to knock the enemy down, helping grind out both this and Charge Adept.

Battle Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Enemy Sage (B)

Achieve a target number of entries in the Enemy Book. Awarded to Xillia’s truest enemy enthusiasts.

To unlock this trophy, you need to register a total of 275 monsters to your Enemy Book. In order for a monster to be added, you have to defeat them in battle. Running away from battle will not count towards your Enemy Book. So long as you fight every battle that you come across, you should be aright with the trophy.

At various points in the game you’ll encounter specialized enemies that will not only register towards the Enemy Book but also be counted towards the Specialist in Rare Monsters trophy. Be sure to try to fight them as often as possible as they come in four different varieties:

  • Bacura
  • Bronze Bacura
  • Silver Bacura
  • Gold Bacura

There are 2 locations in the game that once passed cannot be returned to so be sure to register these enemiess while there. These locations are:

  • E.S.S. Zenerha
  • Spirit World (Milla’s story only)

Upon collecting all 23 Mysterious Jewels, return to the Xailien Woods Temple. Walk ring at the front of the aisle inside the temple and place all the jewels to trigger a bonus boss fight:

  • Crimson Servant
  • Azure Servant

Should you return to Xian Du’s Coliseum after chapter 3, you will be able to fight coliseum versions of various previous bosses from the game. Upon unlocking the solo Grandmaster tournament, your party members will appear as enemies to fight.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Monster Exterminator (B)

Achieve a target number of enemy encounters. Awarded to those who live for combat.

To unlock this trophy you must have a total of 800 enemy encounters. This should not give you any trouble and you should naturally unlock this as you play through the story.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpgSpecialist in Rare Monsters (B)

Defeat a target number of rare monsters. Awarded to those with a knack for monster hunting.

This trophy is one based partially on the luck of the player. To unlock this trophy, you must defeat a total of 75 of these monsters. These rare monsters come in two varieties and appear wherever monsters are found completely at random.

The first variety of rare monster is a Strong monster. These monsters take on the form of just about any normal monster, but outside of battle they will appear with a http://i51.tinypic.com/28a2r7l.gif above their heads. When engaged, the word “warning” will flash on the screen as you enter the battle. These monsters are stronger than average and will yield more experience and gald than usual when defeated.

The second variety is known as a Bacura. These monsters appear on the field as blocks that are slowly spinning. Unlike other monsters in the game, these monsters will run away and disappear if you approach them at normal speed. To avoid this, you must either approach them while holding :circle: to walk towards them or by using a Dark Bottle to attract them towards you. Bacuras have strong defenses and resistance to all elements but yield a lot of experience. Try to look for each of the four versions of the Bacuras as each will count towards the Enemy Sage trophy.

A good way to grind this trophy is by going to the exit of the Sabstrath Deepwood –Southwest Region leading to the Sabstrath Highroad – Southwest Region and exiting before reentering. Due to the game reloading the enemies of a region upon you leaving the area, new enemies will appear every time you walk between those two sections. Repeat moving between these two areas until a rare enemy appears. Due to the appearance of rare enemies being random rather than limited, you can use this method as much as you like.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Combo Artiste (B)

Perform a combo that exceeds a target number of hits. Awarded to those whose combo skills pay the bills.

To unlock this trophy you need to achieve a combo of 100 hits. While it may sound a bit tricky at first, there are quite a few strategies to achieve this.

One of the easiest methods is to set Milla as the player character with the Minimum Damage ability active and all other party members set to manual. Choose your target and begin to attack the enemy until your AP is at 1. At this point, use Binding Sphere and wait for your AP to recharge. Repeat this attack style until you reach a 100 hit combo.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsTZPRCj8Rw]Combo Tutorial[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpgSadist (B)

Exploit an enemy’s weakness a target number of times. Awarded to those who know how to hit where it hurts.

To unlock this trophy, you must attack a total of 1350 enemies with an attack of the element that they are weak to. You can check for the enemy’s weakness by holding :r1: while targeting a monster. While this may be a little tricky at first, it can be achieved early on in the game by raising your weapon shop level high enough for element attribute weapons to appear for purchase.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Leader of Links (B)

Perform a target number of linked artes. Awarded to those who understand the value of teamwork.

To unlock this trophy you will need to perform a total of 1350 linked artes. In order to do this you must be linked with a partner and allow your limit gauge to fill until it begins to glow. If you use an arte that is compatible with your partner, a golden circle will flash on your screen once the arte finishes. Once this happens, press :r2: to initiate a linked arte. This is a pretty simple trophy and, if you’re sure to keep up on use of linked artes, you should unlock this before completing the game.

The best partner combination to try this with is Milla and Jude as they have among the highest amount of linked artes together.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Forger of Chains (B)

Perform a target number of linked arte chains. Awarded to those who strive for battle perfection.

To unlock this trophy, you must perform a total of 450 link arte chains. In order to do this, you must fill your limit gauge to maximum and perform a linked arte, triggering Over Limit. During the linked arte, a combo prompt will flash on the screen. At that moment, input the command to perform an alternate linked arte to keep up the chain. Due to only being able to perform this when in Over Limit, it is recommended that you start this early on in the game.

A good method of grinding these linked arte chains is to partner Milla and Jude, activating the skills Minimum Damage and Over Expansion (1,2, and 3) for both. Enter into any battle with an enemy in the fields and set all other party members to manual. Now fight the battle as you normally would. Due to Minimum Damage, all of your attacks will only do 1 damage, allowing you more opportunities to perform link arte chains without killing the enemy and ending the battle.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Skilled Delegator (B)

Utilize Auto-Items a target number of times. Awarded to team leaders who know how to delegate.

To unlock this trophy, any members of your party must use Auto-Item 400 times. In order to do this, enter into the battle menu by pressing triangle and toggle Auto-Item to on with :square:. You may further customize the use of Auto-Item within the strategy menu by pressing :start: within it, setting which items are used and in what conditions. When these conditions are met, one of the members of your party will act to use the selected item.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Sous Chef (B)

Trigger a target number of food effects. Awarded to those with an affinity for fine cuisine.

To unlock this trophy, you will need to trigger a total of 800 food effects. This should not be confused with eating 800 foods as the effects will carry on through multiple battles. This trophy is simple and as long as you eat foods consistently, it should unlock naturally as you play.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Food Vendor Magnate (B)

Upgrade the good vendor to its maximum level. Awarded to the most valued food vendor customers.

To unlock this trophy, you must increase the level of the Food Vendor to 100. In order to do this, you must either donate the materials that you received from monsters and search points or gald for points. To do this enter into the shop menu by talking to a merchant and scroll down to the option Expand and click on it. Upon picking the shop you want to upgrade, select the material you wish to donate, pressing :left: or :right: to change the amount you donate. While you may choose any material item you own, pay special attention to the symbol that appears to the far right of the menu. Any materials that correspond to that symbol are given a bonus multiplier for their point value. Most of the time this will be at 2x but on rare occasions, it may change to 3x so be wise when donating your materials. All item shops of the same type share the same amount of experience and level so you don’t have to worry about having to remain in the same town to level up your shops.

An alternate method to maxing out you maxing out your shops for the trophy is the save/load method. In this method be sure to save before talking to the merchant. Upon entering the Expand menu, place all of your materials and/or gald into a single shop to push it to level 100. Whether it is enough or not, be sure to load the file afterwards. While you won't keep the title with this method, you'll still unlock the trophy.

Learn a target number of Leia’s artes and skills. Awarded to those who have mastered Leia in Battle.

To unlock these trophies, you have to learn all of the character’s skills. This is accomplished by maxing out the characters’ levels to 99 and filling both of their Lillium Orbs completely. This is a task that can be very time consuming and require a lot of grinding however there are two methods that can make this grind more manageable:

The first method is to repeat the EX Dungeon Magnus Zero multiple times, equipping your party with the accessories Dark Seal or Demon Seal, giving 1.5 and 2x EXP respectively. The downside to using these items is the holder of the Dark seal will take 2x the damage from enemy attacks and the holder of the Demon Seal will be inflicted with every negative status ailment besides petrifaction.

The second method is waiting until the New Game + and buying the 5x EXP and Double EXP multipliers. For this method, you’ll have to be sure to gather at least 2300 Grade but it’s well worth it as the two are stackable, giving you 10x EXP for that playthrough.

Both of these methods may be combined with certain foods to boost their effectiveness even further through their own experience bonuses. These foods are:

  • Soda Rice
  • Beef Bowl
  • Spicy Chicken Roll
  • Orange Soup
  • Pot Au Feu
  • Creamy Beef Bowl

Collectable/Exploration Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/819.jpg Item Fanatic (B)

Achieve a target number of entries in the Item Book. Awarded to Xillia’s most avid item collectors.

To unlock this trophy you must register a total of 700 items. These items all come in a variety of different categories that they are divided into:

  • Consumables
  • Dishes
  • Weapons
  • Headgear
  • Armor
  • Accessories
  • Fashions
  • Materials
  • Valuables

Fashion items can be obtained on your way to unlocking both Pirate King and Sub-event Superhero as various pirate chests and sub events reward you with fashion accessories. Most, if not all, of the material items will be found from search points and various monsters that you will fight. Valuable items you will obtain in various methods throughout the story but you don’t need all of these. There are also a unique set of 6 weapons known as the Devil’s Arms which are obtained as a part of the sub event required for World’s Greatest Warrior.

The remainder of the items may be purchased from the various shops as they are upgraded to get their respective trophies though it is recommended to wait until they are maxed out to get all of their discounts on items. Be aware that consumable items come in three sizes, each counting as their own item so be sure to buy all three.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1629/2F7.jpg Sub-event Superhero (S)

Complete a target number of sub-events. Awarded to Xillia’s most curious questers.

To unlock this trophy, you must complete a total of 90 sub-events in a single playthrough. This trophy can be one of the more tricky ones as there are timed events within each chapter that show up and lock without any warning and certain sub events are only available to either Milla or Jude. There are a total of 102 sub events in the game, 30 of which are timed so be careful not to rush and miss too many of them.

For an easier time with this trophy, it is recommended to start out with Jude’s story as that will give slightly more breathing room giving access to 99 sub-events as opposed to 97 with Milla’s. Also be warned, should you mess up or decide to wait until the next playthrough, while the title data may carry over into the New Game +, the trophy will only register 90 sub-events of a single playthrough. Currently a guide of the sub-events is available here:

Sub-Events

Thanks to greenzsaber for letting us use this in our guide.

Sub skits are the skits that occur within sub-events and are triggered by progression through them. Ect. skits are chat between the party members and are triggered through miscellaneous activities throughout the game.

There is an alternate method to acquiring the skits, making this trophy much more easily managed. In the Grade Shop in the New Game +, there is an option to buy all of the skits so long as you have accumulated 3000 Grade. Should you choose this method, you can watch all of the skits via the skit player. To do this, enter into the game menu with :triangle: and scrolling down to library. Complete Milla’s story. Congratulations on completing Tales of Xillia!

To unlock this trophy, simply complete the story in which Milla is selected as the player character in the beginning.

At the start of the game’s story, you will be given an option of choosing either Milla or Jude as the player character. While the story for the most part will remain the same, the game will be played from their point of view and as such, will follow their side of the story. The biggest divergence in the story will come in chapter 4 where, depending on which character you chose, you will follow a completely different set of events for the beginning of the chapter.

If playing as Milla, while in the spirit world, be sure to battle all of the monsters that you find as, while they may look like those from the beginning of the game, they are of a different variety and count as a new enemy towards Enemy Sage. In addition, all chests that had been previously opened in the areas visited will be closed again helping towards Treasure Treasurer.

This chapter is pretty short and will send you through a few areas before you can freely roam again:

  • Trigleph

Jude:

  • Soldiers Who Use the Spyrix
  • Those Who Act in Shadow, part 3

Defeat the Golden Mage Knight. Awarded to the world’s most formidable fighters!

To unlock this trophy, you must complete the EX Dungeon Magnus Zero and defeat Golden Mage Knight. To do this, you must complete the sub-event Devil’s Arms, requiring that you defeat the 6 Devil Beasts and claim the Devil Arms associated with them. For more information about these monsters, check here:

Devil Beasts

Upon defeating them all, return to Sapstrath Seahaven and speak to the man sitting on the barrels. Now upon completing the game, you will receive an item called the Golden Key, allowing you to access Magnus Zero in Fezebel Marsh. Be sure to stock up on consumable items beforehand as you’ll have no access to your Item Shop once inside. After going through 20 floors within you will appear in an area resembling the Xian Du Coliseum where a scene will occur in which the Golden Mage Knight challenges you to a battle. This fight takes place in 3 different phases, each having him split into one additional fighter upon defeat. The third phase is the hardest and may give some players a bit of a challenge. However this can be made more manageable with the ability to change the game’s difficulty and use of the Hourglass to give some free time to attack. Upon defeating him, the true potential of the Devil’s Arms will be unlocked, giving them an additional boost in power for every enemy that character has defeated over the course of that playthrough.

All the hard work is done. Everyone give Kudos to Kurolegacy7 for his hard work on his first trophy guide. He did a little over half of the descriptions on how to get the trophies. I am proud of him! I also did my share over half the work too of course. I am glad to have done this trophy guide with my best friend.

Thanks for the guide! Does your enemy book carry over when your NG+? I definitely missed the E.S.S Bacura on the first playthrough

Enemy Sage

At various points in the game you’ll encounter specialized enemies that will not only register towards the Enemy Book but also be counted towards the Specialist in Rare Monsters trophy. Be sure to try to fight them as often as possible as they come in four different varieties:

Bacura

Bronze Bacura

Silver Bacura

Gold Bacura

There are 2 locations in the game that once passed cannot be returned to so be sure to register these enemiess while there. These locations are:

E.S.S. Zenerha

Spirit World (Milla’s story only)

Yes it does.

Great guide, don't forget to give credit to Greensabers as it seems you have linked his sub event guide to your trophy guide. Also for Loot Lord re-spawned treasure dont count towards the 800 I noticed, you literally have to find 800 different search points rather than doing search 800 times, that one proved really annoying on my runs.

Thanks, we will fix that problem right away with the 800 and give credit to Greensabers. Right now, we are taking fixes before submissions, so we know that there are little to no errors in the guide. I also added at the end of the Road Map what carries over into New Game+ for the Grade Shop since it is a commonly asked question.

Great guide!

Is a walkthrough necessary for this game? In Tales of Vesperia there were so many items are monsters you could miss, and loads of titles to acquire that a walkthrough was pretty much required to complete it. Is Tales of Xillia more than possible without one, save for the Sub-Events?

I want to play without a guide, but I'm always afraid I'll mess up and cost myself a lot of hours having to replay the game.

Nah, the game is fairly straightforward, the only exception is sub events because some of them must be completed before certain storyline events are completed. Other than that the game doesn't leave much room to miss anything important or necessary, which is nice.

Thank you so much for posting the guide! This will help a lot with achieving my platinum.

One question though, about Sous Chef: do you have to manually consume food items via the field menu every time? In almost every Tales game you can cook food in the battle victory screen.

If you have to do this manually in the field, I'm afraid I'll forget when items wear off and when to eat food again... Is there an easier way?

guide looks great (especially the banner at the top) but i like to add a few things since i have done it all yesterday or the day before because i wanted to have a relaxed NG+.

Snap Pivot Adept (B)

i went for this and leias staff extension trophy pretty late in the game, a great spot for this is mon-highland, look for the women enemy with the two circle shaped blades and fight her until only one of her is left, she attacks really fast and her attacks hit multiple times so your timing can be a bit off and you will still get it, to make sure nobody attacks here open the menu-strategy and set everyone to protect yourself in the second option.

Yeoman Healer (B)

since there is no tip on how to get it easier: use the horse like enemies in the game since almost every attack will knock you down but be careful, i was level 80 and couldn´t be knocked down anymore because the level difference was to high, the horse enemies in magnus zero however were still able to knock me down. just make sure you set jyde to minimum damage because he will attack the enemy sometimes after picking you up. took me around 20 minutes to get 450.

Spirit Guardian (B)

Rowen will only do this if one of the link members is the target, great for this trophy are the djinn enemies since they like to appear in large numbers or the kobolds. go to strategy and set all 4 players to protect yourself, you can just let them cast spells and rowen will use it if you or he is targeted.

Career Thief (B)

a simple fireball is enough to knock the enemy down here, each fireball that connects is a 100% knockdown. i am not even talking about the charged version. also great is to take jyde as partner and perform their :cross::cross::cross::cross: combo which is made for her to steal an object since its also a 100% knockdown if it connects. you will see them both glow if done correctly, it also adds a great amount to the link gauge.

Enemy Sage (B)

just because i saw this asked around here, the powered up versions of the golden knight on the 25th and 30th floor in magnus zero do not count as new monsters, only his first 6 entries from your first encounter with him counts.

Sadist (B)

you actually don´t have to kill them, you have to HIT them with a weakness attack 1350 times. if you go into the main menu in the game and look at the data you see how often you hit the enemies weakness, there is no counter for weakness kills, you can also see the progress when you look at the title from the game menu.

so technically, you could get 20 of them in a battle or over 100 if you use minimum damage and a elemental attribute weapon which has the weakness of your enemy.

i got this trophy when i had a total of 326 enemies killed, i also have the title for 4050 and killed a total of around 1400 enemies, so just the weakness hit counts.

again the guide looks great, especially if its your first, the sadist trophy description is wrong however the rest are just some things i like to add to make things easier, entirely up to you if you like to use it or not. if not no problem ;)

also english isn´t my first language so have mercy on the grammar ^^

We will add this to the guide once Kurolegacy7 gets online. I had a nagging feeling that something was missing here. The answer to your question is yes, you must manually cook from the item menu when you are on the field. You will have a fork and knife symbol next to your playing time to tell you how many battles you have left with the food. Let's say you eat a piece of food that lasts for 5 battles, that will be 5 towards your food counter. I got most of them down when I was grinding up my level.

guide looks great (especially the banner at the top) but i like to add a few things since i have done it all yesterday or the day before because i wanted to have a relaxed NG+.

I believe that I did miss the problem with the Sadist trophy when I was reviewing it and making revisions. We will fix this ASAP. The other hints could be helpful. Kurolegacy will go over those tips and decide if he will add them or not. I personally think they are really good tips.

Congratulations on getting the guide up you two! I know how hard you worked on it from chatting to Wolf. The level of detail is excellent and it's wonderfully written overall

If my love for JRPGs ever returns, I'll definitely be giving this a try and using your guide :)

Isn't mentioned, but you can actually farm Jude's yeoman in training * restores on knockdown * a touch simpler by holding down when you get knocked down, you'll actually just sit there until you get up, giving Jude ample time to restore, he only does it once per knockdown though.

And for the 150 steals, Jude is an extremely simple character to use, get in close, hold down and hit X twice, will knockdown anything in a few hits, even bosses, making stealing a joke.

For the teepo drain, I seem to get it ALOT, even if my HP is maxed, by holding up and attacking with jude or anyone, I believe that having an airborne enemy is a trigger for it.

Looks good so far. I would like to note something for the roadmap. You should note that it is much more efficient to work on the character specific trophies and especially the cooking trophy during playing your first playthrough in step 1. If someone would play after your roadmap, he/she would finish the first playthrough and then start on working on those. This is much more grinding and inefficient.

Also, it is faster to level to 99 on the second playthrough by using the grade shop. With 10x experience you will reach it in no time. Even faster if you additionally cook the food which increases the experience. No need to spend additional hours on grinding towards lvl 99 during your first playthrough.
