mattybell2117
I played hundreds of hours of HSG on my psp but this game is nothing like it. There are inconveniently placed bunkers, hazards, trees, etc everywhere and every single damn course is built on a giant trash heap or something. There are hills sloping into bunkers, fairways that are 5 yrds wide, and the greens are absurd. They're the most hilly greens ever. I understand this isn't supposed to real golf but seriously, wtf? I feel like every shot is luck based. I'm on the silver boss now and I've resorted to using easy mode, which I hope doesn't mess up any of my trophies. Every player I've earned so far is complete crap, even when I got them to max loyalty. There's simply nothing fun about this game, it's ridiculously difficult and anytime I win I think "Wow, I was lucky someone randomly triple bogeyed the last hole". This shouldn't what HSG is about. I find myself wanting to smash my psp everytime I hit the ball near perfect and it goes 10 yards to the left of right and slopes into a bunker or everytime I miss a putt by a half foot and it goes sailing off the green. This has got to be the least rewarding game I've ever played and you're forced to put dozens and dozens of hours into it to unlock all the stupid shit in the shop. Why would I pay $10,000 for some ball that's shaped like a globe? Clap Handz shit the bed with this game imo. If I'm going to get beat, I want to get beat because it was close and they just ended up hitting one shot better than me. Not because of these ridiculous conditions that forced me to end up in some random 8ft deep bunker with a plugged ball 300yrds out. Even when I played with the training clubs (automatic impact) and the pinhole ball (A control) I still can't seem to keep my ball under control. Yep, that's your problem. You need to watch for wind and elevation.. .Those count for your direction and length. If you go for the higher power guys, you'll be able to avoid a lot of the hazards. You also need to learn how to play safe instead of going for that 5foot wide fairway part. Sometimes you need to drop back into the safer area so you can have a fairway shot to the green. Hitting to the green from the rough is always gonna be more difficult. This game is very rewarding for me. I enjoy it because it makes sense when I do badly. Either my timing is off, or I didn't see something I should have. If you are most of the way through the game and still using training clubs... THAT is why you are doing badly. I've started using Max now though since I've unlocked him and I seem to be playing a bit better. Some of these courses are just a pain. I pulled a -14 on Maple Leaf course which is of course the easiest but I was happy. Too bad all the other courses are crazy difficult. I'd like to use the turbo clubs and finesse the ball a bit but that doesn't seem to work for me so it's pretty much just big air and the occasional pinhole for me now. Plus he's good in the rough which is always nice but his lack of spin is annoying. He couldn't spin a wheel down a hill. Too bad all the other courses are crazy difficult. Well, you can't expect that every map will be dead easy as Maple Leaf - where's the fun and challenge in that? Be creative, shoot carefully, plan your every shot, take care of wind, slope that you shooting from. I personally enjoy very much that there is so much physics in this game. It's 100 times more rewarding when you will finally get that crown on Leagcy of Links Club instead silly crown on one of the first maps. True, the game punish you for your mistakes, but all I can say is practice, practice, practice:) About 1 month ago I was where you are now and too wanted to snap my Vita sometimes, but several tries later I was so happy when finally received a crown. Now I'm only missing 1 star and 2 crowns, then it's just grinding loyality and points (this is not fun - I admit). When I will get platinium on this one, it will be my most rewarding one. And don't worry about switching to easy mode, you won't miss anything, only the scores of your opponents will be worse. Good luck! Btw I dont think Max is all that good - his impact and control are crap. If you miss the safe impact zone, the ball will go waaaay off. I rather use someone with less power, but that shoots straight (doesn't curl the ball right/left) and controls the ball better. militarymeleer
Yes any of the final three characters are your best bet. I play with Izaac myself. You have to learn that golf isn't about blowing out the waters with every shot. It is impossible to win if you're always trying to lay it up onto the green from 330 yards. You need to practice going for the easy shot, and then doing a little chip onto the green. This will help your score. Picture these two scenarios: 1. You go for the long shot to the green. You land on the green, but you're 35 yards out. Then you putt, and you miss, and now you're still ten yards out. You miss again, and get a par. And of course there was always the option to land in a bunker and wind up shooting a bogey. 2. You go for the shorter shot to the fairway, and have a 10 foot chip. You either make it, and get an eagle, or miss it, and have a short putt for a birdie. Think about these things, and you'll be fine. I think we've all hated this game at some point. Vamp1980
I think Xiao Ling that opens up somewhere in Gold Rank (I think) is the right choice. 80% players out there plays her. No wonder she is worth 50.000 to buy.
Valo23MO
I hear ya! I land in bunkers even when my ball should be nowhere near the damn thing. I account for wind and all that shit but I still land in the fucker. Then to top it off, it's always a bunker that has a massive hill between it and the hole.
