Ceromorth
Can anyone confirm are all the ending including the best case scenario really as shit as ive been told and read about? Did bioware really take the spit in the face option rather than adding a proper 'win' ending?
Pure_Breed-1
anyone else think the prothean was funny when he talked about the other species. he had me dying when he called the solariens the lizzard people.
T_l_M_B_0
Just finished the mission with the Rachni Queen... holy shit Grunt was fucking BADASS. Such an epic cutscene. I was for sure he was gonna die, so glad he didn't.
the_requiem
Just finished the mission with the Rachni Queen... holy shit Grunt was fucking BADASS. Such an epic cutscene. I was for sure he was gonna die, so glad he didn't. For a moment I was like What.The.FUUUU... I chose to deal with Rachni Queen just to save Grunt and they made it all a waste by that fade to black. Bioware have once again nailed character moments. Though I was disappointed by how short and sudden Kasumi's was... kinda like her DLC in ME2. P.S. I haven't got the game yet, plan to pick up Ultimate Edition with all DLC. But am co-playing on my friend's 360 where we got our character from ME1. T_l_M_B_0
And this game is hitting me deep again. Mordin, and Thane, both of you shall be missed Such well done ends for both of them, Mordin singing his Scientist Salarian song and Thane and Kolyat praying for Shepard, both almost coaxed a manly tear out of me. southurnbuck
To side track the emotional side of things for a moment. I went to Purgatory on the Citadel went to the bar up next to the stripers & had the option to order a drink , so I did. I ordered again & got a different veiw of Shepard each time. So I keep doing it to see what happens. After 4 drinks Shepard passes out only to wake up on Aria T'Loak's bench & she was shaking her head at me like she was ashamed....I was like WTF... So I go back to the bar to do it all over again to see what happens. But this time it took 5 drinks to pass out. Now this time I wake up in the elevator with a pissed off Solarian eyeballing the shit out of me. Was funny as hell. I go back to the bar to see if anything else would happen , but I guess they have a cut off limit for alcoholics... because they won't give me anymore. I though I would share this with you guys. I found it to be funny. Edited March 8, 2012 by southurnbuck
duhu1148
Well I finished the game. Overall, the story throughout the beginning-middle-climax were excellent, stronger than ME2 in that regard, but the ending of ME3 is a BIG disappointment. Not much variation. The worst ending you can get is Earth gets destroyed, but the Reapers are stopped regardless of any of your choices. Big letdown. Not really varied either, basically you get: Earth is either destroyed, "ruined", or saved Anderson lives or dies Shep lives or dies Three choices on how to deal with the Reapers- none with a right or wrong answer, though I've heard the best ending possible is destroying the Reapers which allows Shep to live if War Assets are high enough. I also don't know how the hell to get War Assets to 5000+ for the best ending, which is supposed to be possible without having to do multiplayer. I was at 3000 when I faced the Reapers, and I had pretty much done everything and scoured the entire galaxy. Maybe I sided wrong (Krogan's over Salarians, Geth over Quarians), but even if I was wrong if those situations, it wouldn't have given me a +2000. Did bioware really take the spit in the face option rather than adding a proper 'win' ending? No matter what you do, or how hard you try, regardless of a number of asses you kiss, your choices dont matter. At all. In the end you are given 3 possible enidings to choose from (like in deus ex human revolution), and that's about it. As far as i can tell, your actions dont influence those possible outcomes. I've chosen to integrate organic and synthetic life (whatever the hell that means). The most disappointing thing is that i was hoping for an ending that would tell us a bit about how all the places i've been and people i helped turned out (like in fallout or dragon age) but no suck luck. At least to the people of the galaxy i am now known as THE Shepard :-D Apart from that, the game is good and very emotional, especially if you've played the first two. "Legion, the answer to your question is 'yes'". I had to stop playing after that because something got into my eye. Both of them. Also - OH MY GOD TALI AND GARRUS HOOK UP IN THE END!!!!!! I walked right on them doing "calibrations". That was awkward. Also hilarious. Edited March 8, 2012 by purifico
Ceromorth
Seriously you dont find out how your stopping the reapers affects the various races/planets we have been interacting with for 3 games!! Now that is the VERY least I would expect or else what is the point!! In the end we are just 'some guy/girl' who stopped 'some synthetics' and saved 'some aliens' by destroying 'some technology' The End Its not a book or film where we cant influence the narrative, its a rpg and not just any rpg but one where our decisions are supposed to be even more important as they travel through the series. Im very upset that bioware have proven to be such a letdown.

I was for sure he was gonna die, so glad he didn't. Actually, if he's not loyal, but survived the suicide mission, he will die in those rachni tunnels. I was actually quite shocked and mad with Shepard when he just let Grunt charge into the rachni without trying to stop him. That was just cold hearted
ChrisBalrog
I think its stupid all of ME2's squad can't be recruited. Its the big finale, EVERYONE should be together fighting. I will even say ME2 felt like a filler since none of the ME2 characters were important or affected ME3.
duhu1148
Plenty of ME2's characters will join you, adding to your war assets, and some of them can directly influence other outcomes. For example, Thane died on one of my ME2 saves. He wasn't there to stop Kai Leng, and thus Leng assassinated the Salarian councilor since Thane wasn't there. Udina then showed a video to Kaiden, showing him that I killed the councillor (incorrectly, a modified video obviously). Afterwards, Kaiden seriously thought I was working for Cerberus and wouldn't move. He was protecting Udina. I shot and killed Kaiden to get him out of the way, then killed Udina. T_l_M_B_0
Anyone else not like that the only way to keep Shepard alive is to choose to destroy ALL synthetics... including the Geth? I chose to controll the Reapers and send them away on my first playthrough solely because I don't want to kill off the Geth or EDI... but that results in my Shep dying just can't win with the endings... and WTF in general at the Catalyst... fidaamica
Yeah, I wasn't too pleased with the endings. They could have been better. And, even if Shep does live, he/she doesn't get back with the Normandy since it is on another planet and there are no longer any mass relays. I was rather disappointed in how the game ended. It was great getting there, very emotional at times, but then at the end I just went WTF and sighed. Especially at the after credits cutscene. I felt like they were trying too hard to explain the "cycle" of life.

Does kaiden survive that? I heard that Garrus can possibly die in this game. Did anybody have that? When does it happen? NeoMan555
For 99% of this game, I was having the best time playing it and felt that it was the best of the franchise to date.... but then came the end. For a series that goes on and on about your decisions having a massive impact, the ending was essentially the same regardless of the decisions you made in the previous games. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with some of my minor decisions just being war assets in the fight, but I fell like some of the bigger choices I made had no real impact (collector base, my choice for human councilor since Udina gets the job regardless). Also makes me cautious of any DLC purchase, since even if there was a choice in it, it would likely make no difference to what happens in the end. KittyEmperor
I was loving the first 99% of the game and it had some amazing moments. Mordin sacrificing himself to deliver the cure and singing that song or Legion sacrificing himself for the other geth my eyes got a bit watery. It was just amazing. But then the ending came and I hated all the choices there is no happy ending. I mean I was really looking forward to living in a house with Tali, but no Bioware was like no happy ending for you. Currently on my second playthrough and I just killed Mordin one of the hardest things I've had to do.
T_l_M_B_0
Yeah, the more I think about it, I like the ending less and less. After all the work people put in to the game, we deserve at least the ability to get a happy ending. Option 1: Everything dies. Option 2: Repears, Geth, Mass Relays etc... all die. Shep might live with high enough War Assets, but never sees his friends again since he is on a different planet and there are no mass relays anymore. Option 3: Reapers forced to leave, but Shepard dies. Mass Relays still destroyed. All of these suck. Im going to block them out and imagine my own ending of destroying only the Reapers, and living happily ever after with Ashley, and his best bro Garrus next door. The game took me about 30 hours. I loved the first 29 hours and 30 minutes so much (enough to make it my second favorite game), but the last 30 minutes were hugely disappointing. Balkor
talk about ruining a great franchise i mean what the hell are the devs thinking when doing those endings, they made 2 epic games and a 3rd one thats epic until the last few minutes, why cant they have a great ending and finish this so that mass effect can be remember as one of the greatest franchise in gaming history and not a could have been special but decided to turn it to crap at the last few mins... i know some could say the ``happy``ending could have been predictible so they wanted to surprise everyone one,but still id ratherget the expected ending and be like wow(i prefer happy ending its a video game after all and to have invested so much in some games you want something good) , and remember all those friends/romances my shepard had through the mass effect trilogy. All those great moments to remember but now its all over shadowed by THAT. Im going to have trouble doing any other playthrough whatsoever.... /end rant sorry had to get that out! Edited March 10, 2012 by Balkor
shelbyhead666
I feel absolutely sick right now. Literally, my stomach is turned after finishing the game just now. No matter what, I always get a terribly shitty ending. I don't even feel compelled to play any of the Mass Effect games anymore because of this. All of that time waiting in anticipation, getting so emotionally invested (I fucking cried when Mordin died, I was that invested), and we get possibly one of the worst endings in video game history. Fuck you Bioware.

purifico
Hey guys, let's not make this a 'bitch about a shitty ending' thread. Let's talk about the story! Doesn't anyone have anything to say about the story? No? Carry on then BTW, what happens to Kai Leng if you don't use renegade interrupt on him? Does one of your companions shoot him or something? quarthinos
BTW, what happens to Kai Leng if you don't use renegade interrupt on him? Does one of your companions shoot him or something? To continue the theme of this thread... IT DOESN'T MATTER! You dodge and kill him with your omniblade anyway. No sword shattering, but otherwise dead Kai.
