Thought Id let u's know that I have rang Game store and they have confirmed that they WILL NOT BE getting any copies of ME3 even preordered copies are being cancelled and deposits refunded. and was then adviced that I would need to go to EA website and they would tell you where will be stocking the game.

I have now preordered my copy of ME3 N7 Collectors Ed. at ShopTo.net for £64.98 which is £5 cheaper than what Game was selling it at

GAME and Gamestation Won't Be Stocking Mass Effect 3 After March [updated]

Written Wednesday, February 29, 2012 By Richard Walker

[update]

GAME Group has followed up its decision to not stock Mass Effect 3 and all post-SSX EA titles with an explanation, claiming that it's all down to a "supply issue".

"We currently have a supply issue with regards to Mass Effect 3, which means that GAME and Gamestation will not be able to fulfil orders for Mass Effect 3 at this time. We want to give customers as much notice about this as possible and provide them with a range of options ahead of launch," GAME Group told Eurogamer.

"We appreciate that this is disappointing for our customers, and we apologise sincerely for the inconvenience that this will cause. We value the loyalty of our customers very highly and as a gesture of goodwill we are providing the following:

•Customers who have pre-ordered in store, will have the opportunity to add £5 worth of Reward points to their card if they visit us from today through to 16th March 2012.

•Customers who have placed a deposit for the title will receive refund as well as the £5 worth of Reward points between 1st and 16th March 2012.

•Customers who have pre-ordered online, will be provided with an online voucher to the value of £5 to be spent on any purchase on our sites.

Staff from GAME had stated that refunds would be issued as in-store credit and not cash, which is not true at all it transpires. Refunds will be given in full and in cash.

[Original Story]

GAME Group will apparently cease stocking EA titles after the UK launch of SSX this Friday, March 2nd, which also includes Mass Effect 3, arguably one of the year's biggest releases. Pre-orders of any EA games including Mass Effect 3 will be refunded as in-store credit, rather than cash, so you can buy yourself any other non-EA game.

The move will apply to all GAME and Gamestation stores, and means that games like Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, FIFA Street and any other EA game following SSX will not be available to purchase from any GAME Group outlets. Eurogamer discovered the news earlier this morning, via a memo issued by GAME today.

"For customers who have pre-ordered the N7 Collector's Edition please re-order your copies through these retailers" states the Mass Effect 3 launch update website. The retailers in question are Zavvi, Amazon, Play and ShopTo, where you can still pre-order the N7 Collector's Edition.

"For further information regarding the Mass Effect 3 Standard Edition with the N7 Warfare Gear in-game weapons pack, please check this page later today," the update continues. "If you have placed a deposit for a pre-order or are uncertain that your existing pre-order will be guaranteed, please contact your local retailer."

"Your local retailer is doing everything possible to make this process as smooth as possible to ensure you get your copy on launch day."

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

i always get my games of Game i have a good relationship with the manager of the store and she would throw me discount vouchers and preorder codes, but i am really considering changing where i shop now if they are not going to be getting certain games.

a bit of topic but I have also found that when in browsing at preowned games in Game store the selection is getting smaller and smaller :(

lol i was about to pre order my copy today xD I normally always go to GAME for my preorders as they are really good with the games turning up on the day if not before! :) Glad I left it late now as i will have a look around see what other stores are offering :)

I cant help wonder though why GAME is not stocking EA games anymore though

Game are quite literally fucked and its going to really hurt the industry over here if every game and gamestation store closes. i heard gamestop have made an offer to buy them so that would at least save a lot of the stores and jobs if it goes ahead

in Northern Ireland we only have Game, used to have a Gamestop until 1 month ago and it closed down. So if Game goes bust we do not have a game retailer only the likes of HMV, tesco, etc to get games :(

If Game and Gamestation go under, I'm sticking to a few reliable Online sites I know e.g. shopto.net.

well thats where i have preordered my ME3 CE was on there today and it is now unavailable!!! I think thats where i will be going now as well. Have bought a few games of gameplay.co.uk but was looking there today and they have merged with gamestation, what is happening in the gaming industry?

its not just the gaming industry. as online retailers have kept growing over the last few years the specialist high street store is slowly dying.

i mean game and gamestation are on the way out, Zavvi died recently and HMV is barely staying afloat at the moment. i was in HMV a few months ago and bought 2 cd's that were 8 quid cheaper online.

EA won't give them credit as they are about to go bust :(

That's not entirely true. EA is basically pissed at GAME for not paying past dues. GAME were getting their stocks on credit, and with their current situation, they weren't entirely able to pay it back. Now, EA won't ship them anymore games unless payment is received up front. Same thing with a few other publishers.

I snagged my N7 edition on Amazon when they accidently put it up for £55 :D

EA did the right thing - they insisted on getting the money up front - GAME going under is a very real possibility and if that happens before GAME pay EA then EA will only get a fraction of what theyre owed for the biggest game of the year.

It would be too much risk - GAME should have gone with it and paid them whatever they wanted - reports are coming in that not stocking ME3 will cost game 2.5million.....

add to that all of the free £5s given out, and people franticly cashing in their points. Ontop of that loyal customers are now not even considering shopping with GAME again ESPECIALLY not for preorders!

this whole situation will hit GAME hard and it wont be long before it has a knock on effect and other publishers refuse to ship them games.

Fuuuucckkk you Game!! Scum. Theres me expecting the postman in the next five hours, thought I'd have a quick peek at the forums for me3 - and what do I find? Jesus wept, so I logged into Game website and bingo - order cancelled. No e-mail or notification from Game, thats low. Had I of known, I could have and would have preordered elsewhere!! Its very bad business, for Game to not have have simply have sent an e-mail to all pre-ordered customers is unforgiveable... I have always been happy with Game, they almost always send new games the day before (or more) before release, and have never had a problem. Now after this, they are DEAD to me, finished, finito, adios...
