Overview:

Estimated trophy difficulty: 5/10 (personal estimate) (Platinum Difficulty Thread)

Offline: 51 (42 (B) 5 (S) 3 (G) 1 (P))

Online: 0

Approximate amount of time to platinum: ~20 hours

Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 2+

Missable trophies: 1 (Max Anarchy)

Do cheat codes disable trophies? No cheats

Does difficulty affect trophies? Yes, must beat the game on hard

Roadmap:

There are 2 ways to approach this game. If you're very confident in your skills, you can throw yourself in on Hard on your first playthrough for a net of 2.5 playthroughs (Hard>Normal>cleanup). If you prefer to ease yourself into the controls first, you can start on Normal for a net of 3.5 playthroughs (Normal>Hard>Easy>cleanup). Hard mode can be quite tricky though, so it depends how well you deal with 3d action games on higher difficulties.

IMPORTANT NOTES: Notation for missions is 1-1 for story mission 1 in level 1, 1-1x for free mission 1 in level 1. All enemy/boss kill trophies are cumulative across playthroughs, can be earned in Stage Select, and stats are saved even if you die.

General tips for Hard mode:

You're going to want to play very defensively. Bosses warp around very quickly, and their attack strings will break your guard very easily, so roll around a lot. If you get caught in 1 launch combo, you're probably dead. A few boss strategies that will prove helpful:

  • Learn when to use your 360 attack! It's activated with :square:+:cross:, and interrupts an enemy's ground string with an invincible attack at the cost of a little life. You can't use it in the air, and if you use it too early, the computer will back off and then punish you, so don't abuse it.
  • If they're standing near you and blocking, then you can string a few :square: attacks and end with a throw, which will almost always connect. If they escape the throw, back off and wait for another chance.
  • Any time you are launched and they do not follow up with a combo, make sure you tech off the ground with :cross:, or else they can continue hitting you after you hit the ground.
  • If you learn their attack patterns well, try to roll past the last hit in their string and use a single :triangle: attack, which is a launcher. This sets you up for one of 2 combos:
  • 1. :triangle: > (delay) > :square: > (wait)> :square::square::square: > :l2:+:square::square::square::square: (trickier because the first :square: tends to knock them out of range depending on position)
  • 2. :triangle: > :l2:+:square::square::square::square: (safer)
  • If you can't seem to connect this, you can just use :square::square::square: > :l2:+:square::square::square: on the ground, but you risk them interrupting you with a 360 attack.
  • Try to farm items before tougher boss fights like the 2v2 battles in White Side missions 1-3 and 3-1. Any extra damage you can get is extremely helpful.
  • In Black Side mission 2-1, you may find that you get killed while on the gatling gun. If you start this mission with a stealth item, you should be able to safely shoot all the Gargoyles down without dying. (tip from Mitsuru Kirijo)
  • Against normal mutant enemies or Cthulhu, :l2:+:square::square::triangle: is a very damaging combo. If you're in Rampage mode, do :l2:+:square::square::square::triangle: instead.

Step 1:

Play the tutorial. This earns you:

Anarchy Training Complete (B)

Step 2:

Start your first run. If you choose to start on Hard, make sure you start on Black Side. If you start on Normal, it does not matter which side you start on. Try to do every free mission as well. Aim to kill every boss NPC with either Rampage attacks or Killer Weapon attacks (both if possible, but no need to worry which one you kill which boss with yet) - and keep a log of which was killed with what. After this story mode run you should have:

(if you started on normal)

Pub Crawl Anarchy (B)

Anarchy Coast Guard (B)

Filling Dark Souls with Anarchy (B)

The Rude Sandstorm of Anarchy (B)

Drunken Anarchy (B)

Defending Coastal Anarchy (B)

Bright Side of Anarchy (B)

Sandstorm of Anarchy (B)

Ending Anarchy is Endless (B) (if you started on Black Side)

Dead Anarchy (B) (if you started on White Side)

(if you started on hard)

Knockdown, Drag Out Anarchy (B)

Anarchy in the Navy (B)

Shining a Light on Anarchy (B)

Anarchy in the Dunes (B)

Broken Bottles of Anarchy (B)

Anarchy Carrier (B)

All of the Lights of Anarchy (B)

Bari Shur Loves Anarchy (B)

Anarchy Reigns is an Oxymoron (S) (if you started on Black Side)

Mad Anarchy (S) (if you started on White Side)

Chasing Anarchy (B) (if you started on Black Side and finished all free missions)

Elite Force of Anarchy (B) (if you started on White Side and finished all free missions)

Step 3:

Start a second playthrough on the other side. If you did your first on Normal, do this one on Hard. If you did your first on Hard, do this on Normal, and try not to die at all. If you managed to make it through Hard on your first run, you should breeze through this run (but try to avoid White Side 2-2x if you can). Looking at your boss kill list from Step 2, now try to fill in the other side. If you killed a boss with Rampage, now aim to do it with Killer Weapon attacks, and vice versa. This earns the other set of difficulty trophies, and the trophy for beating the game on the other side. If this is a Normal run and you managed to not die (manually save often, and if you die randomly, pause, return to menu, and then reload your last save - this may not work if you die during a mission where you only have 1 life though), you will get:

Max Anarchy (G)

Step 3b (optional depending on your playthroughs):

If you did your second run on Hard, then now start a third playthrough on Easy. You will definitely breeze through this one. If you didn't get Max Anarchy (G) in the previous step, you will try to get it here. You don't need to bother with much strategy against bosses in Easy, but do try to keep your Rampage gauge ready for any mistakes.

Step 4:

Now enter stage select to finish up the Campaign mode trophies. As you choose between Normal/Hard, you'll notice missing medals in Stage 4-3 and Red Side on one side in each difficulty. Finish these missing missions to earn the other side's Campaign mode trophies. If there are any other missing medals for free missions, fill them in for those trophies if you didn't get them already.

Step 5:

Also using stage select, fill in the boss kills with Rampage/Killer Weapon. If you notice any holes in your kill list, go fight them on easy to make it faster. This will get you:

Anarchy's Executioner (S)

Burnt Out Anarchy (S)

Step 6:

Mop up. Use stage select to fill in any remaining enemy kill trophies or the 2 trophies for boss kills within 5 minutes if you didn't get them already. You'll probably still need grab escapes as well, so choose an appropriate level for it to grind it out.

That's it, platinum get!

Mad Anarchy (S)

Starting on White Side, complete the Campaign on hard difficulty.

This one is a little bit confusing. If you start a story mode on one side, you'll do Stages 1-4 on that side (including 4-3), then switch to the other side, do Stages 1-4 again (MINUS 4-3, though you will still get the appropriate Stage 4 trophy), and then switch back to the original side and play on Red Side for 2 boss fights. This is 1 full playthrough. DO NOT start a new game until you have earned one of the trophies for clearing the Campaign! If you haven't earned it yet, you haven't finished the game! If you have already beaten the game on both sides on different difficulties, then you can get the matching trophies on the other sides by going into Stage Select and playing the missing Red Side and Mission 4-3.

Chasing Anarchy (B)

Starting on Black Side, complete all Campaign and free missions on any difficulty. (Stage Select OK)

See Elite Force of Anarchy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/D51.jpg

Elite Force of Anarchy (B)

Starting on White Side, complete all Campaign and free missions on any difficulty. (Stage Select OK)

During a Campaign mode playthrough, you unlock the next missions 1 by 1 (they alternate unlocking, free, then story, then free, etc) by getting enough points, whether in Street Brawl (the open map) or the available unlocked missions. You will generally need to complete every mission in order to get enough points to advance. It's possible to skip a free mission here and there if you do really well in a story mission, but try to do all free missions at least once. You'll get this after completing every mission excluding 4-3 on the opposite side. You can see your progress in Stage Select, and you can easily fill in all missing missions from there as well.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/77A.jpg

The Best Defense is Anarchy (B)

Defend against an enemy attack 10 times. (Campaign Mode)

Blocking is done with the :r1: button. Successfully block 10 attacks from any enemies and you'll have this.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/D1E.jpg

In Anarchy, Timing is Everything (B)

Evade 10 times. (Campaign Mode)

Evading is done by holding :r1: to block, and then hitting any direction+:cross: for a quick invincible roll. Do this 10 times for the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/FF5.jpg

Path of the Weak isn't Anarchy (B)

Defeat 30 enemies with throw attacks. (Campaign Mode)

You throw enemies by hitting :circle: near them. On Easy/Normal, the weaker enemies will be killed with just 1 grab, so you can farm this quickly in Street Brawl mode.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/94F.jpg

Anarchy is a Killer Weapon! (B)

Defeat 50 enemies with Killer Weapon attacks. (Campaign Mode)

Killer Weapon attacks are done by holding :l2: and hitting either :square: or :triangle: on the ground or in the air. This is the most efficient way to kill enemies quickly, so you'll get this without thinking about it. A jumping :l2:+:triangle: is excellent for crowd clearing as well.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/F1E.jpg

Rage! Rampage! Anarchy? (B)

Defeat 50 enemies while in Rampage mode. (Campaign Mode)

Rampage mode is activated by hitting :l3:+:r3: when the gauge at the bottom left is filled. You'll start glowing with a yellow aura, become invincible, and get infinite Killer Weapon meter. The gauge fills up with kills and attacks (both hitting and being hit), but not very quickly unless you're killing mutants/berserkers, so you may want to preserve this for tight situations. Even then, you'll still get to 50 kills easily without trying.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/C05.jpg

Duel of the Anarchies (B)

Counter 5 enemy attacks. (Campaign Mode)

Hit 5 enemies while they are attacking for this trophy. You can get this by using a :l2:+:square: Killer Weapon attack against a mutant type as it is attacking, but chances are you'll get this by accident long before even seeing your first mutant.

Massage with an Anarchy Ending (B)

Evade 5 throws. (Campaign Mode)

This is probably the trickiest trophy in the game. You can break a throw by hitting :circle: right as a boss NPC grabs you. The best way to farm this is by going into Stage Select on Normal (you can try Hard if you like to make them even more aggressive, but it's trickier to survive) in any fight that's 1v1 against a larger character (such as Big Bull, Nikolai, or Max), holding :r1: to block, and circling them at close range. Dodge their Killer Weapon attacks, and wait for them to try to throw you. When they do try to throw, quickly release :r1: (THIS IS IMPORTANT! If you are holding :r1:, you can't break the throw!) and mash :circle:. If done right you'll shrug off their throw. If it enters the grab animation, you were too slow.

Good levels for this are White Side 4-1 vs Nikolai or either side Red Side vs Max.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/A62.jpg

Big Combo Anarchy (S)

Defeat an enemy with a combo of 100 hits or longer. (Campaign Mode)

It's fairly simple to rack up combo count in this game, as you cannot lose your combo counter by getting hit or knocked down, only by waiting too long between hits (or by dying). You can farm this in Street Brawl (best to not use Easy difficulty since enemies die too quickly). You'll likely get this by accident during normal play, but if you are having trouble, try finding a fight with multiple mutant types, activating Rampage, and using repeated :square: or :triangle: attacks where you mash the button for hits.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/D2A.jpg

Meet the Anarchy Butcher (B)

Kill 20 mutants via the mutant execution technique. (Campaign Mode)

Against mutant enemies, when you do enough damage to them (without overkilling them via Rampage or Killer Weapons), they will drop to the ground with a green circle around their bodies . If you go up to them and hit :circle:, you'll enter an animation where you execute them. There are quite a few free missions that pit you against multiple mutant enemies (such as White Side 4-2x where you fight 9), so you should be able to get this in your first playthrough, if not early into the second.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/436.jpg

The Plural of Ninja is Anarchy (B)

Throw 10 enemies from behind using stealth. (Campaign Mode)

The stealth item is denoted by a little blue person with their arms up. When you activate it, you'll turn invisible for a short time. During this time, enemies will lose sight of you and wander around aimlessly, so run up behind them (they won't see you even if you hit them by accident!) and throw them with :circle:. One stealth item is only enough for about 6-7 throws at most, so you'll need to get a couple of these for the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/FA2.jpg

Guy Dead Missile Anarchy (B)

Destroy a Helicopter Drone by throwing its missile back at it. (Campaign Mode)

When a helicopter drone shoots a missile at you, you catch it by hitting :circle: right before it hits you, and then you can throw it back with :circle:. However, if you do this in Street Brawl, the helicopter will drop down and enter Hijack mode instead of being destroyed. Instead, go to Black Side mission 1-2, where you fight alongside Big Bull. Halfway through, you'll fight a helicopter, and since you can't hijack it, it will be destroyed if you throw its missiles back at it. On Hard mode it took 4 missiles, but on Easy it should only take 1.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/F06.jpg

Throw The Anarchy Already! (B)

Defeat 20 enemies with thrown objects. (Campaign Mode)

Throw attacks include throwing either items (like barrels) or enemies that are about to explode (killseekers with barrels on their back or the various drone types) at other enemies. They need to die, and not be put into their own ready to explode state. You should get this easily without thinking about it, but a good place to farm it is Black Side 2-2x where you fight lots of parasite enemies. There are a couple barrels in the corner that you can throw for a lot of quick kills.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/0FA.jpg

Frozen in Time for Anarchy (B)

Defeat a frozen enemy. (Campaign Mode

There's 2 ways to freeze an enemy: either throw a blue ice canister at them (these are found all over the place in Street Brawl), or throw a cryo-killseeker (blue guy with a blue barrel on his back) that is about to explode at another non-killseeker enemy. The enemy will be frozen in place with ice on them, so quickly run up and kill them for the trophy (you may wish to use Killer Weapon attacks to ensure they die before thawing out). Take note that on Normal/Hard difficulty, an enemy must be sufficiently weak before they will be frozen, so soften them up a bit before finding that barrel/killseeker.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/DCA.jpg

Anarchy Clockwork Drone (B)

Defeat 5 enemies by throwing a self-destructing Drone before they explode. (Campaign Mode)

This applies to all of the Drone types. When one has taken a significant amount of damage, it will fall to the ground with an alarm going off. You can then grab them with :circle: and throw them at other enemies like a bomb. However, since Drones tend to only appear with other Drones, you may notice that throwing an exploding Drone at one with full life will only put the other Drone in exploding mode instead of killing them. To solve this, first single one out, weaken it to exploding mode, and then throw it at a group of other Drones. Now you'll have multiple Drones all in exploding mode at once. Grab one and throw it at the others to kill them.

An easy place to find a lot of Drones at once is in Black Side mission 3-1x.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/722.jpg

Someone Set Up Us The Anarchy! (B)

Defeat 10 enemies by throwing an explosive Pyro Killseeker before they explode. (Campaign Mode)

Just like Drones, pyro killseekers (red guys with red barrels on their back) fall to the ground with an alarm sounding when they take enough damage. You can pick them up and throw them at other enemies like bombs as well. Unlike Drones, however, pyro-killseekers tend to appear with a lot of other weaker enemies as well, so it is a lot easier to get throwing kills with them. You can try missions like Black Side 1-1x where they are guaranteed to spawn, but you will likely get this without trying for it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/71E.jpg

Baron von Anarchy (B)

Defeat 50 enemies while riding a Helicopter Drone. (Campaign Mode)

When you damage a helicopter drone enough in Street Brawl, it will fall and let you hijack it and kill enemies. However, it's much easier to use White Side mission 2-1x, which starts you out riding a helicopter drone. You can get anywhere from 30-40 kills in 1 run, so just do this mission twice for the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/AF0.jpg

Backyard Barbeque (With Anarchy) (B)

Fry 50 enemies with the Flying Platform. (Campaign Mode)

While on a Flying Platform (the vehicle that the enemies in white hazmat suits show up in with 2 killseekers on the side), you can hit :square: for a flamethrower attack. On Easy/Normal, enemies will die in 1 hit from this, but on Hard, they take 2. If you hijack a platform while in Street Brawl, it will blow up after a few flamethrower attacks, so the alternative is to use Black Side mission 2-1x, where you're racing with the platform. You have plenty of time to finish without dashing, so just follow the path and mash :square: to burn everyone in your path. You should have this within 2-3 runs of the mission.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/FE6.jpg

Machine Gun Anarchy (B)

Defeat 15 enemies with the Gatling gun. (Campaign Mode)

The only time you get to use a Gatling gun is in Black Side mission 2-1, where you shoot down incoming enemy Gargoyles. There are 2 waves that come, with a total of more than 15, so you should get this if you shoot them all down. If you happen to die, don't worry, since the kill count is saved.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/A11.jpg

Anarchist's Tomato Cookbook (B)

Defeat 50 enemies with the Rifle. (Campaign Mode)

The rifle is extremely powerful, capable of killing mutants in 1-3 shots and all other enemies in just 1. However, each pick-up has only 5 bullets, so this would normally take quite a while, unless you go to Black Side mission 1-3x or White Side 3-3x, where you get a rifle with infinite bullets. Between those 2 missions, you get far more than 50 kills.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/86D.jpg

Lake of Fire? Lake of Anarchy! (B)

Defeat 5 enemies at once with an incendiary grenade. (Campaign Mode)

It's fairly easy to find groups of 5 or more enemies at once in Street Brawl, but it's not always easy to find the specific items. Black Side mission 3-1x regularly gives you grenades, traps, and large enemy groups, so find a group of 5+ and toss a grenade into the middle for the trophy. The explosion range is huge, so you don't need to be too accurate.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/DE3.jpg

Minefield of Anarchy! (B)

Shock 3 enemies at once with a Supercharged Trap. (Campaign Mode)

Just like Lake of Fire? Lake of Anarchy!, do Black Side mission 3-1x to easily find a supercharged trap and large groups of enemies. The explosive range is slightly smaller than an incendiary grenade, though, so make your trap throws count.

Anarchy's Executioner (S)

Defeat all the bosses with your Killer Weapon. (Campaign Mode)

See Burnt Out Anarchy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/894/B86.jpg

Burnt Out Anarchy (S)

Defeat all the bosses while in a Rampage. (Campaign Mode)

To get these trophies, you'll need to make sure you kill every boss NPC (excluding Kraken/Cthulhu, and during the 2v2 battles on White Side, both of them count) during Rampage or with a Killer Weapon attack. You'll know you did it right if you get the 10,000 point bonus Rampage or Overkill. It IS possible to get both at the same time, but it's a little luck-based. Make sure you have Rampage ready, and get the boss to low life. Immediately activate Rampage and use :l2:+:square:. If you manage to connect and kill them, you will get both bonuses. If you're unlucky, they'll interrupt your attack with their own Rampage, and you'll be put into the button mashing sequence to kill them, which only gets the Rampage bonus.

You'll need to keep a running checklist for this, but take note that you only actually need all bosses that you would fight in 1 playthrough. Therefore, you only need one of the final set of 3 bosses, not both. If you do this in Stage Select, you can also use any character you like, so pick your favorite. For the first fight in Red Side, you won't be able to enter the fight with a full Rampage gauge, so you will want to lower their life and then turtle it out until you get a full gauge. Die if you need to, since it adds a little to gauge gain. Here's a list of relevant bosses:

BLACK SIDE

1-1: Big Bull

1-3: Baron

2-1: Gargoyle (there's 5, but as long as you kill 1 with Rampage/KW, it's enough)

2-3: Leo

3-1: Rin Rin

3-2: Zero

3-3: Max

4-1: Sasha

4-2: Zero

WHITE SIDE

1-1: Durga

1-3: Durga

1-3: Garuda

2-1: Oinkie

2-3: Jack

3-1: Fei Rin

3-1: Ai Rin

3-2: Oinkie

3-3: Max

4-1: Nikolai

4-2: Douglas (the battle ends when he reaches ~10% HP, so keep that in mind when waiting to use Rampage)

FINAL SET (a)

4-3 (Black): Max

Red Side (Black): Leo

Red Side last boss (Black): Nikolai

OR

FINAL SET (B)

4-3 (White): Max

Red Side (White): Jack

Red Side last boss (White): Nikolai

Anarchy Recognizes Anarchy (B)

Unlock all player characters in the game.

Most characters are unlocked by playing Campaign mode, but the final character, Gargoyle, is unlocked when you have fully cleared the game with both sides on any difficulty. When you unlock him, you'll have this trophy. Alternatively, you can unlock characters by leveling up in Online mode if you prefer. Gargoyle will unlock at level 25.

Max Anarchy (G)

Complete the game without using retries on any difficulty.

**MISSABLE**

You must do this in a fresh run of Campaign mode, and you cannot die in any mission for this. It's possible to do this on Normal difficulty if you are careful with manual saving/loading, but it's easiest to just do it on Easy, where you can speed run through the game in a couple hours with nearly no risk of death. You will definitely want to skip White Side mission 2-2x, which has a wild excavator that can be tricky to dodge. Also, be careful with White Side mission 4-2, as the center of the stage will turn into a pool of quicksand that kills you instantly.

Secret Trophies

Anarchy in the Calamari (G) (H)

Defeat the Kraken within 5 minutes. (Campaign Mode)

You fight the Kraken in mission 2-2 on both sides. The timer starts when you are able to move, and ends when the final cutscene begins. There's a lot of waiting during this fight, but you should have plenty of time. Make sure to be picking up throwable objects off the ground and throwing them at the Kraken every chance you get. Near the beginning of the Black Side version of the fight, it will rear up with a gigantic block. Make sure you keep throwing rocks at it to interrupt this attack, or it will result in instant death for you and a loss of time. During the final phase, you can speed it up a lot if you make sure to catch the first missile it throws at you, after which it will immediately drop down and show its weak spot to throw the missile at. If you happen to miss all 3 missiles, you probably will be too slow.

Unlike Cthulhu, the Kraken may be a little tricky the first time if you aren't familiar with the fight, so you may want to wait until your second playthrough (or use Stage Select on easy) when you are more comfortable with his attacks. Once you know what you're doing, you can easily make the 5 minutes even on Hard difficulty.

Ultimate Weapon of Anarchy (G) (H)

Defeat Cthulhu within 5 minutes. (Campaign Mode)

You fight Cthulhu in Black Side mission 4-2. He starts with a big shield around him, so try to enter the fight with Rampage, immediately activate it, and aim to break the shield and do some damage before Rampage wears off. After that, he's quite susceptible to :l2:+:triangle: attacks for some big damage. Don't be afraid to run away to get your bearings, you have plenty of time. Plus, if you happen to die, you'll instantly respawn with a full Killer Weapon gauge to do some heavy damage.

When you get his life down, be sure to quickly do the Execution on him, or else he will recover and regain about 1/5th of his life back.

A question. I heard when you complete the game once, we can use any characters in Campaign.

So let say, I finish the game on Easy, will I be able to choose my favorite character for Normal and Hard? Or its will have to be Jack and Leo again?

That is incorrect. You can choose any character for Stage Select, but not for Campaign.

Hey i have a question, Ive completed the game on Hard both sides and now i have the full catalouge unlocked in stage select. Can i play the game through stage select to get the Anarchys Executioner/ Burnt Out Anarchy trophies?

If not can i use stage select to get the Max Anarchy gold trophy?

Great guide :) After reading a few threads yesterday, I figured either you or Setsuna would make the guide.

Just two things I'd like to point out.

For "Big Combo Anarchy", You CAN indeed get hit/knocked down.. I got a 130 hit combo on a Beserker that was kicking my ass right back and got the trophy no problem.

Now for "Anarchy Recognizes Anarchy", I know it's easiest to unlock all characters by playing the campaign.. but alternatively you can unlock all of them by playing online and reaching Rank 25.. So maybe you should add that as a little note(in case someone is really hooked on the MP)?

Other than that, amazing job!

When they do try to throw, quickly release :r1: (THIS IS IMPORTANT! If you are holding :r1:, you can't break the throw!)

... That might be why it never works for me... Going to go try again now as that is the only trophy I still need. Still going to be hard though as my reaction time is pretty shit.

OK, was easier than I thought when I knew I had to let go of the damn block button. Thanks a lot for including that bit in the guide. Now on to another game. Though I'll still be playing this for the online. I hate online in most games, and I suck at the online in this but it's so fun that I don't even care.

Then go to training mode, set the CPU to grab only and just practice it for a little bit.

You don't really have to practice, i read Akaris method and went straight to Hard White Side 4-1 and got it right away. You just have to be very focused on the bosses movement and watch out for the grab animation, when you see it you let go for your guard and mash :circle: for a guaranteed break.

Silentgig - You can use Stage Select for the boss kill trophies, but you cannot for Max Anarchy.

Yoda - For the combo trophy that's actually what I meant when I said 'not by getting knocked down', but maybe I can try to reword it to be a little clearer

Tsunami - When I was trying it and holding block, I was really wondering why I couldn't break any throws, especially since you can still throw while you're blocking. When I tried releasing block, I got it right away, so I figured it was pretty important to note.

Oh, alright. Well sorry for trying to fix you on that then, I must have read it wrong. Amazing guide nonetheless and I'll be using it if I can ever get off of the online lmao

I know you don't really need to practice, I was just simply recommending it. While I haven't broke any grabs in campaign(simply because I don't get grabbed), I've done it a bunch of times online and finally have it down packed. Oh the hate messages I get for using Bayonetta lmao, she may pack a hell of a punch, but she has like the lowest health out of everybody.

Hello, I need help, I have done something wrong I don't know if it's because I'm Spanish and had misunderstood something.

I started this game doing black side on hard difficulty, I beat it and unlocked these story trophies:Knockdown, Drag Out Anarchy,Anarchy in the Navy,Shining a Light on Anarchy,Anarchy in the Dunes. The game started on white side hard difficulty, I went to the main menu and started a new game on white side normal difficulty and unlocked: Drunken Anarchy,Defending Coastal Anarchy,Bright Side of Anarchy,Sandstorm of Anarchy. But after this, the game started in black side normal, I went to the menu and I hadn't unlocked the red side, I did black side mission 4-3 on normal and white side mission 4-3 in hard and not unlocked anything. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help and sorry for the long text.

I think they mean that old guy, Douglas? The one I've seen 0 people use online... And you can escape being grabbed by mutants, it's just not the same thing and doesn't count towards the trophy.

I was thinking that, but the mission with Douglas is not a side mission. I didn't even know mutants had grabs, actually! Good to know their grab escapes don't count for the trophy, too.

The game is tricky about that, but I mention it in the guide. You have not actually beaten the game on hard yet. If you start on Black side, 1 FULL playthrough is Black side stages 1-4, then it goes to White side stages 1-4 (minus 4-3), then Red Side. You quit the game too prematurely for it to count.

Akari two questions:

The first one is that if I don't quit and it starts on white side it will be on hard difficulty am I wrong? And the second question is if I now end the black side on normal what would I have to do next or I can't do that?

I don't understand how it works at all.

Your white side normal save will continue with you playing on black side on normal. After you finish playing black side stages 1-4, it will send you back to white side and continue into red side. Clear that, and you'll get the trophy for clearing white side on normal. Unfortunately, your hard mode playthrough is lost, so you'll have to start over to complete 1 side again.

Let me break it down as much as I can. Let's say you start on Black side, on hard. You will play:

Black side Stage 1, story missions 1 2 3

Black side Stage 2, story missions 1 2 3

Black side Stage 3, story missions 1 2 3

Black side Stage 4, story missions 1 2 3

At this point it will cut from Jack's face to Leo's face, and it will send you to White side. You DON'T NEED TO START A NEW GAME, THIS HAPPENS AUTOMATICALLY. Now you are playing (all on hard still):

White side Stage 1, story missions 1 2 3

White side Stage 2, story missions 1 2 3

White side Stage 3, story missions 1 2 3

White side Stage 4, story missions 1 2

After you clear White side Stage 4-2, it will cut from Leo's face back to Jack's face, and then it will send you to Red side (black side version). Again, DO NOT START A NEW GAME. Now you play:

Red side (black version) missions 1-2

After you fight the final boss in Red side stage 2, you get your ending, and you'll see your ranking for all stages combined. This is where you get the trophy for beating the game, and now you can go into stage select to do the missing medals (white side 4-3 and red side [white version]) to get the difficulty trophy for the other side.

Like I said, it's a bit tricky, but it should be common sense. If you haven't gotten the trophy for beating the game yet, why would you start a new one?
