Road Map

Introduction:

This game got trophies via a patch. If you played the game prior to the patch then you will need to start a new game to earn trophies. This game is very straight forward. There are no glitched or missable trophies. Also, there is a cheat and it doesn't disable any trophies (see the bottom of the Introduction). You will earn most of the trophies simply by playing through the game. This game is glitchy and will freeze on you a lot so you will want to make frequent manual saves, especially when burning roots and making combinations. Below is a cheat for infinite ammo. Credit to Yatzer for this cheat code.

There IS a cheat for Alone in the Dark and no, it does NOT disable trophies. The cheat is for infinite ammo. To get it, make sure that a) you are in 3rd person view and b) you have NOTHING equipped. Then quickly press :triangle: :circle: :cross: :square:  :right:  :left: :triangle: :square: :cross: :circle:  :left:  :right:. If done correctly, an announcement will appear of the top of the screen.

Step 1: Complete the game

This game has a Fast-Forward setting. It has a lot of puzzles in it and you have the option to skip through the game. Doing so will require an additional playthrough of that Episode. To start off we need to complete the game without fast forwarding. There are a lot of trophies that you will earn from progressing through the game. You will also earn a lot of trophies from Step 2. The more trophies you earn in this step, then the less work you will have to do in Step 2. Once you have completed the game, move onto Step 2.

Step 2: Combinations

Now that we've finished the game we can reload Chapter 8 Sequence 1 and earn the Combination related trophies. The main one we're focusing on is Handyman Carnby. People think that combinations such as the Explosive Bottles and Handkerchief count towards this but they don't, it's full combinations so none of the regular combination trophies will count towards this.

Step 3: Roots

Once you've made all of the possible combinations you can load up Chapter 8, Sequence 1 again and go around the Park burning all the Roots of Evil. You will have your Spectacle Vision at 40 by the time you finish the game so you only need to burn about 3/5 of the roots now. To burn a root you will need to set fire to it, commonly done by explosive throwable weapons.

It's been quite a while or well some years since I played and finished (platined) it. But somehow I would really like to play it again, don't know but I really liked the part about creating stuff :p I hope it will be a freebie for plus members sometime, cause I sold mine and won't pick it up again!

Plat! Thanks for the guide. :) The game wasn't as bad as everyone says, nor was it that easy, at least for me. Reminded me of my 14-year-old self playing Tomb Raider 3 and thinking "ok, what the hell am I supposed to do?" lol :D Anyway, two full days and ding.
