Progress Meter?

So I'm unable to find out what this Progress meter which popped up on me is. My assumption, because it occurred while doing a terrible job on some lunges, is that it has to do with form/overall performance for the exercise and not quite meeting the requirements for doing a rep in the game's eyes.

 

Does anyone know what I'm talking about and if I'm right or wrong about my assumption?
